Star

The journey back to the common room was atrociously awkward. Skylar's hair was frizzy and she had makeup smudged all over her pink cheeks. Draco had a loosened tie and his white shirt was stained with her mascara. The two of them walked silently back to her room and he stopped outside of her door for a second before leaving for his next class without a word. Skylar laid down on her bed and stared at her ceiling before dozing off to a deep sleep.

Soon, the sun was well below the horizon. It was dinner time. Skylar got out of bed, tied her hair in a side braid and walked to the great hall. Everyone had already began feasting so she just squeezed herself in between Caylin and Blaise.

"Good morning?" Said Blaise.

"You're lucky you didn't get caught skipping classes today." Said Caylin with an eyebrow raised.

"Yeah Malfoy too." Blaise added. Draco looked up from his empty plate at the call of his name and his grey eyes met Skylar's. Skylar looked back to Blaise and raised her eyebrow. She didn't even know that Draco had skipped classes. She had only assumed that he had gone back to class after he left. She shrugged it off and began eating.

Not long after, Dumbledore dismissed the students and sent them all to bed. Caylin, Blaise and Skylar walked with arms interlocked, skipping to their commonroom.

"So Skylar! Would you mind if I shared a dorm with you? I really can't keep living with the Forth years." Asked Caylin as the trio plopped down on the sofa by the fireplace, Draco sitting alone on the one across them.

"Sure! I'll help you get your things to my room. Blaise maybe you could help her carry the mattress?"

Blaise nodded and the three made their way to Caylin's room to get her things, leaving Draco alone by the fireplace. Draco couldn't help but delve deeply into his thoughts.

After what seemed like an eternity, Caylin was all settled. She wore her plaid pyjama set while Skylar wore a woolen sweater with plaid pants. The two girls were tucked in and ready for bed. Skylar switched off the lamp by her side table and whispered "goodnight" to Caylin. But she couldn't seem to fall asleep.

"Hey, can I talk to you about something?" She whispered, looking up at the top of her bed.

"Cay?"

Skylar turned her head to see Caylin fast asleep and snoring lightly. Sighing, she grabbed her DADA textbook and began reading up on the chapter that Professor Snape was teaching them, just in case he asked her to answer one of his questions again.

So, she read and read until she couldn't focus any longer. Skylar read the same sentence over and over again trying to understand it but she couldn't keep going so she threw her book in the corner of her room before she threw her hands up to her mouth when she realised that she wasn't sleeping alone any longer. Skylar muttered a quick sorry as she tip toed towards the book and placed it on her desk before leaving for the warm fireplace.

A familiar blonde was still sitting there, firewhiskey in hand.

"Have you slept at all?" She questioned.

Draco shook his head, eyes still locked onto his glass of firewhiskey. Skylar let out a sigh and made her way out of the commonroom. It was freezing cold. Without the warmth of the fireplace, she was shivering. Then, the commonroom door creaked open and the blonde walked up towards her. His eyes looked at her hands that were rubbing her arms up and down in attempt to warm herself. Draco took of his robe and threw it around her shoulders before sticking his hand out.

"Where to this time sir?" Skylar said in a posh accent.

"Just follow me. You'll like it. Trust me."

So, the two teenagers walked and walked. Climbed several flights of stairs until they reached the very top.

The sky was pitch black. Stars shone as sugar spilt over black marble, glistening in the sun. The night sky was such a welcoming sight, appearing like magic at each sunset, promising to return as she faded in dawn's first light. Skylar couldn't help but smile.

"I figured you'd like it. Since your name is Skylar. And your surname is Star." He said, chucking at his own joke.

Skylar  nudged his side and rushed up towards the railings. Draco followed after her and he leaned onto the railings, looking at her as he smiled to himself. He walked back and sat on the bench nearby while Skyalr gazed at the millions of stars. And then, a shooting star caught her eye.

"Draco! Come make a wish!" She exclaimed gleefully. The sight of the shooting star made her feel like a child once again. Draco still sat on the bench, looking at the floor.

"Draco?" She called to him, letting go of the railing as she walked towards him. His eyes still locked on the ground. Skylar sat next to him and debated whether she should comfort him.

Skylar nervously wrapped her hand around his back and laid her head on his shoulder. He tensed at her touch but slowly relaxed after. His hand slithered around her waist and pulled her closer.

Skylar placed her palm on his chest and said,
"I know you're hiding something from everyone. And I know it's hard. But if you ever need to let it out, I'm your girl."

He cracked a smile and laughed.

"What?" She asked, confused. Skyalr was being serious. If he needed anyone to talk to, he could come to her.

"I like it when you say that you're mine."  He smirked.

She pushed him away playfully and crossed her arms. His gentle hands tugged at her waist once again and and she moved closer to him, resting her head on his shoulder once more.

"I- I'm sorry. For being a horrible, horrible person. I really don't deserve someone like you." He whispered.

Skylar didn't know what to say so she pulled him into a hug. A long warm hug. Merlin knew how much she wanted a hug. How much he needed that hug. And so, the two sat there, not wanting to let go, not wanting to leave.

He was all she ever wanted, all she ever needed.
