Meeting The Girls

Chloe's P.O.V
Today, Simon told us that we'd be meeting another one of the musical groups that he had under his contract. The goal of this idea was to get us to work with them to create an album or something together and for 'publicity' (for Simon). The boys and I were really on edge about who we'd be working with, and as we all knew, we were terrible at first impressions.

Around noon, Simon walked into our studio while we took a little five-minute break after our recording. "Guys, meet your new partners in song-writing!" Simon exclaimed. Four girls walked in and we instantly recognized them. They were the girls of Little Mix! Simon gestured at them to introduce themselves.

"I'm Leigh Anne. Nice to meet ya"

"I'm Perrie, hi"

.....

"Jesy! Introduction!" Leigh Anne whispered to the other brunette. She was preoccupied by her phone. She looked up in embarrassment. "Oh yes! Hi, I'm Jesy." She announced. The girls giggled.

"Hi guys, I'm Jade Thirlwall"

"Ooooh" Preston clicked his tongue, nudging my arm. "Not the time, Preston" I muttered.

Just a little backstory, a few weeks after we got verified as official pop stars, we were invited to attend the Brit Awards, and we did get nominated for 'Best Musical Group' and to our surprise, we beat Little Mix! Of course, we did show our respect for them and we congratulated them for getting nominated but I just hope this doesn't create any bad blood between our two groups.

"Well, I do trust you guys will get along just fine," Simon said, before leaving our two groups to it.

There was a bit of awkward silence between us. The girls just looked around, Jesy looked at her phone, the boys just scratched the back of their necks, coughing every few minutes. And me, well...I was freaking out. Anyone who knew me really well would know how socially anxious I am. Just meeting new people gets me all panicked.

Then Leigh Anne cleared the silence...

"So, you're Catherine, right?" She asked, pointing to me.

"Oh, no I'm Chloe actually. Nice to meet you" I said.

"We've already met, haven't we? At the Brit awards." She corrected.

"Right, yeah. Sorry." I murmured, mentally slapping myself.

"So, Chloe, that Brit award must look great on your mantelpiece, huh?" She sneered.

"Umm, yeah. I guess, sure." I knew exactly what she was getting at, and honestly, I thought they were over it.

After that, silence overtook the conversation again.

I just looked around the room, trying to avoid eye contact with Leigh Anne. My eyes stopped at Jade. She had her eyes all over me. Was she...checking me out? I watched her bite her lip subtly. I started scanning my eyes all over her. Soft brown hair draping down her glowing skin. She had eyes that matched her chocolate brown hair. She had a cloth of the lightest shade of pink covering her chest. A baby pink jacket and a short above-the-knees skirt, showing off her long...beautiful legs.

I stopped admiring her when I saw her eyes looking right into mine. I wanted to look away but something pulled my attention towards her. She gave a small smile. Believe me, I wanted to smile back, but then an image of Zayn popped into my mind again. "They really are insincere. Or at least, Perrie is" His deep voice echoed through my head. I looked back down, breaking eye contact with Jade.

I looked over at me. She was slowly brushing her hair with her fingers, every now and then getting them trapped in the tangles of her slightly-curled hair. I didn't see pure evil in her eyes or malicious intentions. She seemed alright, I guess.

But I knew I couldn't trust them. It seemed like there were a lot of people in the music industry whom we had to be careful around, couldn't trust, and had two-faced personalities. That sucks. How do we know who to trust? The chances of us getting double crossed or manipulated by people are very high, especially when you don't know everyone since you're new to the game.

"So, Chloe, how old are you?" Perrie asked. I gulped and tried to process the question. "S...s...six...teen...sixteen" I stumbled over my words. "Does she have a speech problem or something?" I heard Leigh Anne whisper to Jade. She slapped Leigh Anne's arm and frowned at her. Perrie nodded. "Hmm, sixteen. You look twelve" she commented. "Oh...umm skin care routine?" I said, shrugging.

After that, you guessed it...another moment of silence. Except this wasn't a moment, this was an hour.

Soon after, Simon came back in and told us we needed to go to the studio, so we awkwardly waved goodbye at the girls and they awkwardly smiled. Everyone except Leigh Anne. That chick just had a problem with me. And I had a feeling that problem would eventually grow into a nasty rivalry between our bands.
