Jade's P.O.V
"Y' know, I've never seen Chloe back down from a fight before. It's just...unlike her" Perrie said, sipping her tea. Perrie was referring to an argument that nearly broke out into a fight earlier, and believe me, things could've gone a lot worse if I hadn't stepped in to shut it down.

Flashback
*Leigh-Anne intentionally bumps into Chloe, making her trip and sending the stack of papers in her hands flying and scattering everywhere on the ground*

"Hey!" Chloe shouted.
"Hmm?" Leigh-Anne answered, pretending to be dumbfounded by Chloe's irritated glare.

C: "Watch where you're going!"
L-A: "Why don't you stay out of my way?"
C: "I'll stay out of your way when you stop getting in my way!"
L-A: "Oh sorry, I don't take orders from a weird, mindless little child"
C: "Well this mindless little child will leave you with broken bones"

"We'll see who ends up getting their bones broken after this" Leigh-Anne threatened, balling her fists.

Before Chloe acted on her words, I rushed to step in front of Leigh-Anne, defending her.

"Back off, Chloe!" I asserted. I didn't even know where that assertiveness came from.

"Or what, Thirlwall?"

I don't know why, but Chloe saying my last name made butterflies flutter in my stomach, although I had to stay serious and strict, I just couldn't help but feel flustered at her strong, feminine voice uttering my surname.

"Or, I give you a taste of your own medicine and give those boys the same fate as you were about to give my bandmate."

Chloe's glare softened to a slightly sympathetic expression as she turned to glance at the boys. One of them mouthed the words "Don't do it" with a pleading look. She couldn't resist that look, could she?

Her face spoke for herself. As much as it pained her, she couldn't risk getting her bandmates hurt just because she couldn't control her urge to fight back. But it didn't look like she would back down so easily. From what I could tell, Chloe was quite brave to square up to people and not back down.

I usually don't like labelling people by their personalities, it just seems to radiate 'don't judge a book by its cover' vibes, but Chloe seems like that 'bad girl' type. The one that the main character knows they shouldn't fall for because he/she is 'bad news' but falls for anyways.

Chloe's face turned back into a glare as she relaxed her fists and chose to stand down. I smiled proudly at my small victory of ending a fight.

"This isn't over" she muttered, turning to walk away.
"I bet it's not" I smirked.

End of flashback

Now that I think about it, I was the reason Chloe backed down from the fight. My threat to give her a taste of her own medicine was enough to make her stand down. Huh, good for me. Standing up to my crush.

I hope she knew that I wasn't gonna shy away if a fight actually broke out. I needed her to know who was really in charge here. And so far, I'm sorta making progress with this intimidation tactic.

Although, I am a little disappointed that the whole taping-her-to-the-table trick didn't work out. I actually thought she'd learnt to watch her mouth after that, but I guess that wasn't enough to tame such a rebellious teenager such as herself.

"Jade? Jaaade?" Perrie's voice broke me out of my thoughts. "Huh, pardon?" I said, dumbfounded. "Why do you think she's so afraid of you?" She repeated her question. I took a sip of my tea and swallowed. "Y' know...I haven't got a clue"
