His Baby

~ Chapter 08 ~

~ CHAPTER 08~

YOU ARE JUST PERFECT aren't you Vi," I say staring into her vibrant green eyes. It's 9 am, and Scarlett has already left for school. She still has another month of classes before 2 weeks of practise exams and 2 weeks of exams.

Violet has a doctors appointment later this afternoon, she was born quite small so they didn't do any vaccinations for her right away which put her on a small delay so today we are going to catch her up, and then we have nothing else to do, so I was thinking I could come home, and we have girls day until Scarlett is home, and we go out to dinner the 3 of us.

"Mummy loves you," I say to her and she yawns shutting her eyes, babies sleep so much it is surprising. All they do is eat, poop and sleep. But now she is getting bigger so she is more alert and more playful during the day

"Are you ready to get up baby?" I ask her, she frowns in response so I laugh and lift her up so we can get out of the bed. I quickly place her in her bassinet and half make the bed, so it looks presentable. I then pick out outfits for us and head to the shower.

I take Violet with me and have her watch me in the bathroom while I take my 5-minute shower. I then get myself ready, drying my hair and applying some makeup before I get Violet ready, and pick up the room so it looks neat.

I then compile all of Violet's washing, mine and Scarletts and take us down to the laundry where I put on Violet's load and dump the rest in the normal clothes pile.

I find my dad in the living room on the couch, and I sit down with him, we just talk and hang out, which is nice since I am so busy and so is he, we barely get to spend time together anymore, we get interrupted by my older brother Grayson not much longer

"Tori can I talk to you?" he says to me coming into the living room

"Sure," I say and I hand Violet to dad, I follow Grayson into the kitchen, where he looks nervous, I watch him gulp loudly before I open my mouth

"What's up," I say

"Look, I just wanted to apologise for not telling you about Shep, I know I should have and I feel really bad, but I didn't want to hurt you, and I am just trying to say to you, that I am sorry," he says

"Gray it's fine, don't sweat it" I reply

"Really!?"

"Yes of course," I say and I open my arms for a hug

"Oh you are amazing T, you truly are an amazing person and mother," he says and I pull out of the hi and ruffle his hair

"Don't get too sentimental on me" I reply and we walk back into the living room to find something to watch on the TV

"Did you guys talk?" Dad asks us as soon as we sit down and I nod

"Good, it's been eating him alive for 3 weeks"

"What do you think I am satan?" I joke

"You used to be," Grayson says

"I was not" I reply

"Yes you were, then you had an angel who converted you" Dad replies

"Agreed," Grayson says and I throw a pillow at him which he catches

I have managed to not stop by the Shepherd house for the past 2 weeks when I know neither Jax nor Ellie is there which is good for me.

Instead, I have thrown myself into my remaining school work, since my semester is about to end, helping Scarlett study for her final exams and Violet, watching my baby's amazing personality develop. She's 10 weeks old, so nearly 3 months old, and she is getting so big, it makes me sad.

"What's on the agenda for today?" dad asks

"Violet has a doctor's appointment, and Julian said he would take me" I reply to them

"Oh that's fun," dad says, I already asked him but he has a surgery scheduled right at the same time, and mum is his scrub nurse so they can't take me, and I am still too scared to go on my own just in case something happens and I need another person with me, I know that eventually, I will have to do this without the help of my family but while they are offering I am taking.

"Hey, why didn't you ask me?" Grayson says hurt

"Because said you were busy" I reply

"Did not"

"Ah yes you did sir" I reply and dad laughs

"I did not Tori"

"You did son" dad replies and Grayson lifts his arms up

"You can come next time Gray," I say and this makes him happy

We spend the next hour watching tv, and I get myself some breakfast before I pack Violets baby bag, and pack us into the car ready to go to the Shepherds, I get there quick and Julian lets me in rushing up to get his coat

Just as he is making his way down the stairs his phone begins to ring, which he declines, but it rings again, and it seems urgent

"Hold on a moment," he says to me and I smile and nod for him to go off, I wait silently, and Jax pops into the room, making me groan

"Oh hey Vic"

"Hi Jax," I say to him

"What are you doing here?" he asks taking a water bottle and apple

"Violet has a check-up and your dad offered to take me," I say and he nods, but Julian rushes back in

"Victoria, I am so sorry, but there has been an emergency at the office with a client and I need to go in" he starts

"No it's okay, don't worry" I reply

"I can come and get Jane or Amber to take you," he says

"I should be fine," I say and I begin to feel anxious, I need someone to come with me

"I am sorry if you wait I can see if Am-"

"I can take her dad, if you want Vic," Jax says cutting him off and I look at him and he smiles shrugging "Ellie is out with her friends and I don't have anything to do today" he replies and Julian looks at me with a sigh of relief

"Is this okay?" he asks and not knowing what to do or to disappoint him I nod

"Yes, it is, as long as it doesn't take away from your day," I say to Jax

"Nope I am free"

"Great, it is settled, I need to get going, have fun, be safe," he says, hugging his son, kissing mine and Violet's cheek before running out the door

I turn to Jax

"You don't have to come, I will be fine," I say

"Nah, I have nothing to do... we can get lunch after" he replies

"Thank you," I say to him

"No worries, take it as me apologising for breaking up with you and leaving you straight after," he says

"What" I reply immediately and his face breaks into a smile, but my heart drops instead
