"What the hell do you want?" I asked Schlatt, bluntly. He didn't answer at first, smirking down at me. God I hated being short. The area around seemed somewhat darker by his presence. We'd walked for about twenty minutes, leading to an outside area of L'manberg, far from Tommy and Tubbo. I itched to get back to my friends, but I might as well humour the man.

"I want you to join me as my running mate." Now it was my turn for silence. Stunned silence. I blinked rapidly, not believing what he'd just said.

"I'm sorry, are you fucking with me?" I still couldn't believe it.

"I mean it sincerely." The smirk had dropped from his face. He seemed serious. How?

"What makes you think I'd do that?" I laughed hysterically.

"Because I know you. I see it in your eyes. You're so sick of being in Tommy's shadow. Don't you want a taste of the light?" I opened my mouth to rebuke, only to find no words. I couldn't really think that, could I? Tommy's my friend. My best friend. I couldn't let myself be jealous of him.

"I..." I shook my head, was I seriously considering this? "No! No I won't."

"Don't lie to yourself, Felicity. It'll get you nowhere good. Jealousy is nothing to be ashamed of." My face twisted, as I contemplated the options.

For as long as Tommy had been in L'manberg, everyone had been caught up in him. How funny he was. How tactically brilliant he was. How smart he actually was, though he didn't show it. I'd been in L'manberg for longer that it had even been named as such. But the minute he showed up, everyone seemed to put me in the back seat to get to know him. Because he was the cool one.

Even Tubbo, who was always by his side and seen with him, felt similarly. There was nothing wrong with the way people saw him as greater than us. He's just a popular person. But I couldn't help feeling a twinge of... Something.

"You seem to be deep in thought." He mocked.

"You're not making me likely to say yes, honestly." I shot back. He held his hands up in a fake defence. I hated this man. But I couldn't deny he understood me.

"If I do agree to this... What's in it for me?" I asked slowly.

"Power, glory, everything you want! Everything you crave that Tommy has can be yours." His smile was back.

"And what are your plans for my country?"

"Oh, sorry, your country? I wasn't aware it was under our power!" His stupid fucking voice of sarcasm.

"Funny. But what are you plans for L'manberg?" I pressed.

"Well it really depends. Should I be elected you'll be my Vice President. You can make some choices. Anything you want, you can have." I couldn't lie... It was tempting.

"You'd... You'd let me make some choices?" I couldn't quite believe it.

"Oh certainly, it wouldn't do not to give my second in command a shred of power." I swallowed slowly, ruffling my peach hair.

"You know I don't like you, Schlatt." I stated.

"Maybe that can change. With time, we can learn to get along. Learn to rule together."

"But there's no guarantee we win anyway..." I trail off.

"Oh, it's we already? Excellent-" I snapped, interrupting him.

"Ah, ah, ah. I didn't say I'd help you yet. But I know you. You'll have some plan to ensure victory. I want to know what it is." I correctes him. The man in the suit nodded curtly.

"A coalition government." I raised and eyebrow.

"That's... Surprisingly smart." I commented.

"Glad you think so. I've already discussed with Quackity the prospect of a coalition. If we win as a coalition however, Quackity will be the Vice President. Not you. But..." He passed for effect, "I will not forget your reason for joining me. You will still have your chance at change." I inhaled deeply.

"I trust Quackity. He's a good guy. I can't believe I'm saying this... But I'll help you." I don't know what possessed me to say it. Maybe I was possessed, that's why.

"Felicity Juniper, it's been a pleasure. I'll contact you when you're needed. Oh, and I'll get you in touch with someone to tailor you a suit."

"A suit?" I questioned.

"Well it's sort of our sign. Isn't it time you get rid of that blue coat? The revolution ended a while back." Schlatt explained.

"I guess so... Schlatt?"

"Yes?"

"I may not like you... But I appreciate that you understand me." I said honestly.

"And I appreciate your help."

"One last question..." I said slowly.

"Certainly." He smiled mildly.

"Why me? Why did you ask me to help you...?"

"Because people know you. They trust you're opinion. You may not see it now, but people would follow you. There's a leader within you."

"O-oh." I wasn't expecting an honest compliment from him.

"I must be off. I trust you'll inform Wilbur of your new position?"

"Yes, I'll get to it." We shook hands once before parting ways.

How was I supposed to tell Tommy about this? He'd hate me! Even more if I told him why. Because I was jealous of him? No way he'd want to be my friend. So I guess I just wouldn't tell him. Let Wilbur break the news and avoid him like the plague.

It didn't take very long to find Wilbur. He was basking in the last rays of sunlight, hastily scribbling into his notebook. How was I to tell the man who lead our country to freedom I was running against him?

"Wilbur?" I called quietly. He turned almost instantly, a steady smile appearing on his face at the sight of me.

"Hello, Felicity. What brings you here?" I bit my lip nervously, planning my next move.

"I- I have to tell you something..."

"What's up?" He looked content. I was about the shatter that. I fiddled with the hem if my shirt anxiously. "Well go one then, spit it out." He joked after a few seconds of silence. I took a deep breath.

"Wilbur, I'm working with Schlatt."
