It was painful. Painful to see Jimin like this. He curled up in his bed with the sheets covering his face while Jungkook covered him.
"Just go home Jungkook. I did this to myself." He sniffed and clung to the sheets. Jungkook rubbed his back.
"Exactly. You did this to yourself. You had the power to stop him but you drove off." Jimin cried even louder with a 'shut up' escaping his lips.
"You should probably text Yoongi or namjoon and take the day off tomorrow, you need it. And I'll pack up some of Sunji's stuff and take him till tomorrow evening ok?" Jimin nodded while he felt the covers being removed from his head. Jungkook rubbed his chin and ruffled his hair.
"There's still time you know. It's not over yet. Bye, I love you." Jimin nodded and he left the room and he hears him walk into Sunji's room. Shortly after Sunji came to say goodbye and they left.
He laid in his bed sulking though he knew that wouldn't get him anywhere. It had just hurt him so much that he let Taehyung go. Regret wasn't something he felt often but now it suffocated him.
He grabbed his phone and scrolled to the contact. In a few minutes, he should be arriving at the airport to get ready to leave. He was about to throw his phone on the ground when it went off.
Yoongi.
He answered and put the phone to his ears.
"Crying yet?" Jimin wanted to throw a shoe through the phone.
"Why did you say that." He whined and Yoongi laughed.
"Just figured if Taehyung cried you'd be crying too. He hasn't cried for someone other than his mom in forever." Jimin rolled his eyes he was about to hang up when Yoongi stopped him.
"Don't you dare hang up Jimin? I'm just saying you can still stop him from going. I can meet you there to give you his gate code-," Jimin ended the call and threw his phone on the floor. He didn't know if he should try he almost thought it was worthless. He sighed and sat up while cleaning his face.
It hurt and he didn't want to hurt any longer. With that, he stood up and dragged on his shoes. He didn't care if he was in pajama pants and a shirt he just cared about making it to Taehyung on time.
He grabbed his car keys and took the stairs to the lobby of the apartment building while running to his car. He went in and started it while taking off. If he was in his old neighborhood he knew he probably would've been pulled over as he stepped on the gas and driver over the speed limit.
"Come on please still be there." He mumbles to himself. He tried not to cry again especially while driving. What was supposed to be a 30-minute drive became 20 minutes. He parked his car outside and pushed the gate open with all his force.
When it moved he squeezed through and ran up the marble steps and knocked on the door while ringing the doorbell.
"It's Jimin! Please open the door. I-I don't want you to leave. Y-you can't leave me." He sobbed and knocked on the door some more. When there was no answer he ran down the stairs and looked at the house. Not a single light was on.
Taehyung had already left.
He cursed and sat on the steps while burying his head between his legs. He fucked up big time. He had all the chances in the world to tell him to stay but he didn't say anything.
He sat on the stairs with regret hugging him while crying silently. All he wanted to do was hug him and never let go. He would never forgive himself.
It didn't dawn on him how cold it was until a gust of wind hit him. He shivered and hugged himself closer. He figured he'd stay just for five more minutes to let everything sit in.
Let that fact he probably let his soulmate slip between his fingers.
Suddenly he felt warm as a jacket was being placed around his shoulder. He was sure it was Yoongi.
"He's gone Yoongi." He mumbles into his hand. "I let him go" he took a deep breath and stopped. That wasn't Yoongi. That cologne was much more familiar than Yoongi's. He was hesitant to look up because he didn't want to get his hopes up and It wasn't him. But when he did lift his head and see him his heart stopped. He gasped and attacked him, the jacket rolling off his shoulder effortlessly.
Taehyung hugged him back while feeling his tears soak his shirt.
"I didn't leave yet. I forgot something and I saw your car at the gate while coming back to get it." He began. "You didn't let me go." He whispers. "I'm still here." Jimin squeezed his arm around him tightly.
"And you're not going anywhere." He mumbles. "Don't go to New York. Don't leave me." Taehyung closed his eyes and nodded.
"Ok Jimin. I'm not going." Jimin let out a breath of relief and pulled back. He looked as if he was ready to leave. Black slacks white button-down shirt and he wore a black jacket that had already been thrown over him.
"You came all the way here... back for Me?" Jimin rolled his eyes with a nod of his head.
"Yes, yes I did." Taehyung brought his hand up to Jimin's face to wipe his tears.
"You know I'm stupid for almost leaving too." Jimin agreed and he laughed. "Truthfully, I didn't forget something my alarm is connected to my phone and it says there was force entry I came back hoping it was you." Jimin smiled and he held one of Taehyung's hands.
"And you didn't think, 'Hmm maybe my million-dollar home is being robbed'" Taehyung laughed.
"No crime in this area is below one percent the most that would ever happen is jaywalking." He admits. Jimin closed his eyes and lays his head on his shoulder.
Taehyung's large hand snaked around his waist and Jimin smiled.
"I can drive you back home or you can stay with me." Jimin opened his eyes and look up at him.
"What do you think Taehyung?"
