'w-why are you doing this?'

when mattia and i finally made it back to the cabin i was in the bathroom wiping my makeup off when my phone began ringing.

it was a call from graziana. i put dow the makeup wipe and answer the call.

"hey, gray." i smile.

"hi elora, how are you?" she asks.

"amazing. you?"

after a while of talking on the phone i could just tell she wanted to ask me something because it was like she was being impatient.

"gray i know you want to ask me something," i sigh. "what is it?"

"where are you?"

"oh um i'm in morocco. why?" i wonder as i begin to pack my things away and walk into the bedroom where mattia was smirking at me as he laid on the bed.

"just wondering. are you with mattia?"

at this point i new she was up to something but i couldn't put a finger on it.

"um yeah, but don't tell anyone! it's a secret."

"okay," i could heat the smirk in her voice. "goodbye, elora."

"uh.. bye." i hang up and look up at mattia with furrowed brows.

"what's wrong?"

i gently sit down on the bed and place my phone on the nightstand.

"i just got a call from graziana," i answer and turn to face him. "she was acting really weird."

"like?" he asks and sits up so he's leaning against the headboard.

"she was asking where i was any everything— she even asked if i was with you."

mattia looked down at his lap for a second and then looked back up at me.

"maybe she was just worried," he suggests. "i mean she is one of your best friends."

i slowly nod. "yeah, you're right, i'm just overthinking things."

"yeah, maybe you are." he smirked and brought me onto his lap. he then begins kissing down my neck and i couldn't help but let out a moan.

two days before

— third person

graziana was in her bedroom getting ready for bed after a long day at work. she had gotten into her pajamas and was about to get into bed when somebody grabbed her.

she let out a scream before having somebody's hand put over her mouth.

"capo is gonna love you." they whisper into her ear and then hit her over her head.

graziana's eyes fluttered open to see a group of people standing in front of her. three of them were men and the other two were women. one of them had pale skin with curly hair and another had caramel skin with curly hair also. another guy had brown hair that flopped on either side of his head and for the girls, graziana couldn't see them properly.

graziana blinked a couple times before tears made their way to her eyes from how scared she was.

she had a gag around her mouth so she couldn't say anything.

the one with pale skin walked over to her and as he got closer more of his features become noticeable.

mariano castano.

another guy came out of the darkness and her eyes widened again.

antonio charles.

graziana began panicking and trying to get out of the grip but nothing worked.

"i wouldn't do that if i was you." somebody spoke making graziana look up and see the guy with caramel skin.

nathaniel abrahams.

tears feel down her cheeks as she continued to pull her arms out of the grip of the ropes.

suddenly, a slap to the cheek was what made graziana stop struggling. she looked to the side and saw lezi with a smirk on her face.

"you heard what he said." she snapped and walked over to mariano and stood next to him.

mariano looked behind him and nodded his head towards graziana. the sound of shoes hitting the floor and out of the darkness she saw amber.

amber walked over to her and yanked the gag off of her mouth. graziana looked over at mariano wondering why he was doing this.

"w-why are you doing this?" she stutters. mariano tuts and walks up to her and kneels down so he is at the same level as her.

"because we want you." he answers and graziana furrows her eyebrows together.

"what do you mean, want me?" she asks and mariano grinned and looked down at the floor, shaking his head and then looking back up at her.

"we want you to be apart of the canyons." he told her and brought his hand up to caress her cheek. "before you ask, the canyons are a mafia."

"d-do you g-guys kill p-people?"

antonio chuckles and rolls his eyes and folds his arms across his chest and leans over to lezi.

"is this bitch dumb or dumb?"

lezi let out a quiet giggle and shook her head. "i can't believe capo wants her. she's useless."

antonio nods then turns his attention back to the two in front of them.

"so is that a yes?" mariano asks and graziana slowly nods.

"y-yeah..."

"wonderful." he whispers into her ear then kisses her cheek. "just wonderful."

mariano then walks behind graziana and unties the ropes. graziana stands up and stretches.

"have you told her , her first mission, capo?" amber smirks.

mariano glances at amber before turning back to graziana.

"your first mission is to find out where elora is and when you do you are going to tell me and we are going there to kill her."

the girls eyes widen but she just nods. "answer him properly!" nathaniel growls.

"y-yes capo."

"well done."
