Standing in front of the hospital room door, Yerin bit her lips nervously, waiting for the doctor. Clasping her bag tightly, she's still wearing her school uniform, looking like a lost girl in the middle of the empty hallway.

"Oh come on Yerin, smile!"

Pacing back and forth, she shook her head, trying to stop the negative thoughts corrupt her mind. She recieved a call from the hospital and she immediately ditched school, leaving everyone else confused.

"Yerin, we will be best friends forever right?"

"Oh please, there's no such thing as forever."

"Even if our forever is not really forever, at least we will be friends until the end of our lives."

She felt like her entire body is trembling as fear filled her entire body. Shaking her head again, her breath starts to get uneven and heavier as she anxiously wait for the doctor.

The door soon opened, making her flinch. "How is she?"

The doctor looked at her with a look filled with guilt and sorrow. He took a deep breath before saying, "she was a strong girl, sadly it's her time to go."

As soon as she heard those words, she felt like her whole world just fell apart, crumbling into pieces- just like a sandcastle that slowly crumbled into pieces as the wave brushed through it, just like a fragile glass, breaking down into pieces.

"Don't cry, it may seem sad, but I'm here for you."

She knew it was only a matter of time before everything starts crumbling into pieces again, but she never thought it would be this quick.

"Do you know why I like looking at the stars? It reminds me that I'm never alone and that I'll always have you."

Looking at the doctor in disbelief, she shook her head, letting out a bitter chuckle. "N-no, this can't be real."

"I'm sorry, there's nothing we can do about this. You can see her—"

She cuts him off as she pushed his body away, entering the room. Memories of that night flashed through her head as she saw her there, lying lifelessly on her hospital bed.

Her legs almost gave up on her, holding her best friend's hand. Her hand is cold, as if there's no more blood flowing inside of her because in the matter of fact- it's true.

"C-chae?"

She tried calling her name, but no response. She's really gone this time.

Her heart is falling into a black abyss with no end. She loves her as her best friend every day, and now she will miss her every day. Everything comes as it pleases and leaves without saying goodbye.

A lingering regret crawls over her face. To her, she was once her dear. But now she's merely a bitter beer, leaving her alone in this cruel and painful world.

"Even if I'm not here physically, just know that I will always be here for you."

Just like a song that just ended, the melody lingers on. But in her case, it's not the melody- it's the pain.

"I'm sorry, Chaeyoung. I really am."

She was her beginning and her end, her meeting and her farewell.

Life is a tragedy and comedy. The other one died laughing, the other one lived crying.

"So are you coming to the cruise party you said yesterday?" Jeno asked the tall boy, earning a chuckle from him. "Am I supposed to dissapoint my parents again?"

"Uh right, Yerin will be there too right?"

Jisung plainly hummed, shutting his locker shut. Jeno sighed, looking at Jisung with an unreadable look. "Do you like her?"

Jisung gave him a weird look. "I never said that."

"I'm genuinely asking you, Jisung. Do you like her?'

Jisung lets out a rough sigh. "I—"

"Jisung!" A voice suddenly called, cutting him off. Turning his head towards the source of the voice, seeing Ryujin running towards him. "You need to go to the hospital now, Neo Hospital."

Jisung frowned. "Why should I? I'm not sick."

"Chaeyoung died, Jisung."

Upon hearing that, Jisung felt a mixed of emotions rush inside of him. "Chaeyoung? Yerin's friend? Your friend?"

Ryujin nods as she tried to hold her tears. It's not only Yerin who just lost a friend, Chaeyoung was her best friend too. But the difference is that Yerin was there with her that night- in that accident.

"Please Jisung, I don't want anything bad to happen to her too." Ryujin said as she burst into tears

He's her only star left in the darkness of the night, the only one that can give her back the sun she just lost.

Downpour.

Yerin foolishly stood in the middle of the rain, feeling her entire clothes soaked as the water hits her body. She's just standing there, in the middle of the sidewalk in front of the hospital, still in denial.

She wanted to cry, but her tears wont even be visible under the rain. It's unbearable to keep to herself, but the tears just won't came out.

She's trapped in her own black hole.

Just then, she felt the rain stopped. Looking up, she saw a baby blue umbrella, covering her from the heavy rain.

"You sure are dumb." A voice said, making her turn around in an instant. As soon as her eyes met his, rain finally welled inside her eyes. "Jisung?"

"Do you know what people are afraid of?"

Yerin shook her head lightly. Jisung smiled at her, taking a step closer to her, taking her hand to hold the umbrella. "Losing the sun that's been shining on them all along. Having the light fade away and not being able to see the dazzling sun over again,"

Jisung opened his jacket, putting it around her small body. She looked up at him with glossy eyes, only to see him smiling at her agian. "But we're only human, we can't spend our whole life running. If you can't erase the pain, you can still cover it with something even more beautiful."

Upon hearing those words, she burst into tears.

"She's gone Jisung, Chaeyoung's gone."

Jisung lets out a sigh, debating if he should wrap his arms around her or no. At the end, he ended up doing that, feeling his shirt slowly soaking as he held her body tightly.

"Just cry it out, I'm here."
