Looking at her own reflection on the mirror with the dim light from the moonlight from the window, her features are still as gorgeous as ever. She's wearing a black dress from her mother's favorite designer brand along with a pair of black heels.
Sighing, she took her purse, getting out of her room. Originally, she didn't want to attend this party. Especially because yesterday was Chaeyoung's death. But her father insisted, saying that this party worth all of his life- which is technically a lie. But the thought of Jisung being there is enough to cheer her up.
"We're leaving in 5 minutes, oh Yerin you look stunning honey." Her mother grinned before walking back towards the mirror, fixing her makeup.
"Hey, you okay?" Asked Yeonjun, looking at her with a concerned look. They all knew about Chaeyoung, she was basically her best friend. "Yeah."
Stepping into the car, Yerin somehow felt a part of her is missing- gone forever. Looking at the blinding lights from the buildings around her, a rush of an unknown feeling hits her- nostalgia.
She found herself falling into an abyss with no way out, hitting her rockbottom. Sighing, she closed her eyes, feeling extremely tired.
After a few minutes of the tiring ride, they finally arrived at the port. It's already crowded as people gather around to enter the cruise. Apparently it's some sort of a celebration party of some of the most prestigious companies in South Korea.
Following her parents, she folded her arms as they all entered the cruise. She wandered around for a while, looking for one specific person. But she couldn't find him anywhere.
"Yerin, come here honey." Her mother called
Yerin sighed, walking towards her parents and her brothers. But what she saw next surprised her the most, she didn't expect her to be here- not now. "This is one of my assistant, Kim Jonwoo and his daughter, Yuna."
Yerin looked at the girl in front of her with a stone cold look, not even bothering to fake a smile. At least until her mother looked at her with a warning look. "She's from the same school as you, do you two perhaps know each other?"
"Yes."
"No."
They both said in unison. Yerin obviously denied it.
Yuna lets out an awkward laugh. "We're not in the same class."
"Oh alright then."
Their parents walked away, leaving the two girls alone. Yuna rubbed the back of her head, feeling intimidated by Yerin's sharp glare. "So your father is working for my father?"
"Yeah, it seems like it."
Yerin grinned, looking away from Yuna. She was about to walk away when suddenly Yuna stopped her. "Wait!"
Lifting one of her eyebrows, Yerin have her a questioning look.
"I heard Jisung is here too. Is he?"
Chuckling bitterly, she took her hand off from Yuna's grip. "Why? You want to hurt his feelings again?"
"No that's not what—"
"Forget about it. He'll still choose you over me anyways."
"My boyfriend's here tonight," Yuna finally said. Yerin looked at her in disbelief, not knowing what to say. "Please I don't want him to be hurt by it again."
"Brilliant," Yerin sarcastically said, folding her arms on her chest. "Yerin please, just do me a favor and—"
But before she could finish her sentence, Yerin walked away from her. Yuna sighed as her shoulders fell, feeling guilty all over again.
Yerin walked towards the upper deck, spotting a swimming pool. Everyone looks happy here except for her. Looking at the sea below her, she took a deep breath, inhaling the cold air.
"Enjoying the view, airhead?" The sound of his deep voice surprised her as she turned around, her eyes meeting a pair of eyes she's been wanting to see. Yerin smiled, "hey Ji."
Jisung frowned, noticing something off from the way she talks. "You're not gonna call me dumbass?"
"Oh please."
Jisung grinned, standing next to her. He's wearing a grey tux with black tie. He looks dazzling, just as usual. "Wanna go grab a drink?"
"But there's only alcoholic drinks here."
"It's not like you've never tasted it before. Come on." He spoke, making Yerin chuckle at him. He was referring to that party they both went to.
They were about to walk towards the hall when Yerin spotted Yuna and who she thought might be her boyfriend from afar. The boy wrapped his arms around her as they both smiled. Yerin widened her eyes, hurriedly grabbing Jisung's arm.
Turning his body around in an instant, Jisung frowned at her, confused by her sudden actions. It started getting worse as the couple started kissing. He was about to turn his head away again but Yerin stopped her by cupping his face with the both of her palms, forcefully turning his head towards her again.
Yerin felt like her heart is dancing widely inside her chest as her blood rushes to her cheeks, tinting her cheeks crimson red. He stared at her with a blank look, stunned by her sudden actions.
Their faces are only a few inches apart and as soon as she realized how close they are, she lets go of his face, looking away from him. She took a step away from him, fiddling with ther fingers. "I uh, do you still want to grab a drink?"
Instead of answering her question, Jisung chuckled. He took a step closer to her and every time he took a step closer, she took another step away from him. She didn't realize how close she was to the edge of the swimming pool until he grabbed her waist, stopping her from falling.
"Careful love, you don't want your outfit to be ruined, do you?" He grinned at her reaction, pulling her body away from the edge of the swimming pool. "O-oh yeah, thanks."
Jisung smiled at her, a weird feeling started rushing through his bloodstream. It's something he felt whenever he's with her- only her. Her eyes are glowing under the moonlight, making it hard for him not to look at her.
He found himself glancing at her lips again. But this time, she did the same thing. But before he could do anything else he stopped himself, clearing his throat as he lets go of her waist.
"Come on, let's grab a drink."
Once again, Yerin felt a mix of emotions that she couldn't figure out yet. But one thing's for sure is that it's really powerful, more than like.
