Chapter 15: Secret of Pyre

“Ang yabang mo, pota,” I leered. Alendis laughed and soared the sky.

Alendis was mightily mocking Erebus with his magnificent wings. The God of Darkness followed him along with his thunderous roar. I don’t know why, but I felt a hint of jealousy while looking at Alendis. He seems on a different level with that form.

I frustratingly held the necklace given by the Fairy Queen while watching Alendis and Sophia battle the Erebus. Ang espada ni Erebus ay mas lalong lumaki, at ang mga mata niya ay lumuha ng mas maraming dugo na hinihigop ng espada.

“This is bad,” Freya mumbled, “Alexis, what should I do?” Freya whispered, making me look curiously at her. Nang mapansin ni Freya ang kakaibang tingin ko sa kanya ay marahan niyang tinuro ang sentido n’ya.

All of a sudden Freya disappeared along with the pixie dust supporting us. Ngunit nanatili kami ni Savannah sa ere, huli na upang mapansin kong nakatayo kami sa ilalim ng mga projectile. Alexis’s blessing. And out from nowhere, Alexis appeared beside me.

“Do you know how to use the devil’s flame?” Alexis asked me.

Mabilis akong umiling sa kanya. Hindi n’ya ba halata na kulay dilaw na apoy pa lamang ang kaya kong gamitin? Saglit na lumapit sa akin si Alexis habang hawak ang magkabilang sentido ko. Loading screen started to appear in front along with a lot of screens indicating formulas. I felt my eyes burning, and all I can do was screech in pain.

The whole vicinity turned black.

“Oh, a king vessel is seeking for my power,” A cold voice said. Lumingon ako sa paligid ngunit wala akong makita kahit ano, “Why would I give my curse to fucking king vessel, who is bound to kill me?”

“Who are you?” I asked.

I heard a cold and raspy laugh, “The most powerful being in the Dark Continent,” he cockily answered. Satan? I grimaced and closed my eyes for a moment.

“You were just a renowned being for holding the blue flame, but you aren’t the only one allowed to wield it,”

“And you think you are fitted –”

I let out a big sigh and darted my eyes to a specific direction where I can the faint eeriness, “You are not Satan. And the blue flame doesn’t exist just for Satan. Anyone can wield it. The person can wield the blue flame it chooses,”

“You are indeed right,”

Out of nowhere, a faint blue flame appeared in my façade, “Garet Christopher Lockser, don’t be jealous of the power within your friend. You are way powerful than him, though his child will eradicate the myths. I am Pyre, the stone you found inside the forest,”

“Holy Styx…”

“The Spirit of Pyre was already within you. From the moment you held me, I already chose you to wield the flames of tranquility. I am no devil’s flame. It is just that you are bound to face Satan, and that is the reason why he holds the same flame that you are going to receive,”

“I don’t get it… Bakit ngayon lang?”

A soft laugh echoed in the darkness, “You just found me. How can you wield something that you don’t possess in the first place?”

“Ah. Okay, gets,” I said and offered my hand. The blue flames slowly circulated through my body. At katulad ng sinabi niya ay kalmado lamang ang apoy na ito.

Hindi ko alam kung paano nalaman ni Alexis ang bagay na ito ngunit dahil sa kanya ay magagawa ko nang magamit ang pinakamalakas na apoy.

“You are now known as the leader of the Rule Breakers, but you are not the one who will commit the greatest sin nor will sacrifice the greatest,”

Tila nawala ang kadiliman, at sa muli kong pagmulat ng mga mata ay nakita ko ang aking sarili na balot sa kulay asul na apoy. Hindi ko rin alam kung bakit nawalan ng buhay ang aking mga mata habang nakatingin kay Erebus.

Alendis charged towards Erebus and mightily kicked him in the stomach. Erebus eyes were locked to mine, and his eyes were filled with terror as he looks at me.

“…the king…” He mumbled. At sa takot niya ay bigla na lamang niyang kinumpas ang kamay niya. Nanlaki ang mga mata naming nang bigla na lamang umalis si Sophia sa katawan ni Alendis.

Sophia began to scream, and black markings started to appear on her body, making Erebus to laugh chaotically. Alexis immediately caught Alendis in the air with her projectile, “The Obsidian Curse…” Alexis mumbled.

Lahat kami ay napatangin sa kanya nang may pagtatakha, “Anong sabi mo?” I asked.

“It is the Obsidian Curse… Nanganganib ang buhay sa loob n’ya dahil hindi sa kanya mapupunta ang sumpa kundi sa anak n’ya,”

“Then, how are we going to –”

Savannah was interrupted because of someone’s arrival, and it was Axel, Alendis’s younger brother from the same mother. Isang babae na may kaparehang mata ni Alexis ang kasama nito sa kanyang likuran.

“Let me help you,” the woman said. Alexis bitterly jeered and rolled her eyes.  It must be Athena. I wryly smiled while watching at them. Ang mga mata ni Athena ay dumapo sa’ kin dahilan para matuon ang atensyon ko sa kanya.

“Calm the seraphim with your holy flames,” She commanded me.

Hindi ko talaga gets kung paano ko gagawin ang utas niya ngunit ginawa ko ‘yon sa pamamagitan nang pagtulong sa akin ni Alexis. She was moving the platform where I was standing to be near to Sophia’s direction.

And I used my blessing to her. At first, I felt ecstatic because of my flames, but as it envelopes Sophia ay dahan-dahan kong naiintindihan kung bakit flames of tranquility ang tinawag dito. Dahan-dahan na kumalma si Sophia kasabay nito ang unti-unting pagkawala ng mga kulay itim na marka sa kanyang katawan.

Muling nanumbalik ang atensyon namin kay Erebus na tila walang bahid ng kahit anong takot sa prisensya ni Athena, “The owner of that body is good as dead now,” Athena said as if life was nothing.

Maliban kay Axel, lahat kami ay binigyan siya ng matalim na tingin, “I’m just telling the truth. It’s been a week since Erebus take over to that body. It means Ainsley was no longer capable of retrieving his body back. He will only cause chaos, and will bring pain towards his children,”

“What are you… implying? Kill my brother?” Savannah gasped.

Athena just smiled. Walang kahit sinong gumalaw sa amin, muling dumilim ang paligid kasabay ang katahimikan naming. Walang may gusting kumitil kay Ainsley. Ilang beses akong napakurap dahil muli kong binalikan ang sinambit ni Athena. Children?

“Axel, ready the capsule,” Athena commanded.

May nilabas na isang capsule si Axel na hindi ganoong kapansin-pansin dahil sa sobrang liit nito. Sophia suddenly pushed Savannah. With tears streaming down Sophia’s cheeks, she mightily stole the Crystalline Sword and pierced through Ainsley’s heart.

Sophia’s weep echoed. From our silent watch to a woman who lost her husband as well as the father of her children. A wicked soul suddenly escaped out of Ainsley’s body.

Axel mightily threw the capsule, merely capturing the shadow of the god who causes us great trouble.

Athena bitterly smiled at me, “He was so scared of the Obsidian child that he didn’t know he is the one who will create it,”
