"You think teacher will change our seats today?", asked Saloni while seating herself on the bench beside Ahana.
Ahana thought about it recalling yesterday when their Chemistry teacher, Mrs.Rama got really fed up with the continuous murmurings they start with whenever she turns around to write something on the blackboard.
"I am sure she'd complained about our class to Mrs. Rekha the moment she reached the staff room."
After a pause she added,"Ab yeh toh tisri shakti pae hi nirbhar karta hai" ('now it depends on the third being' referring to their class teacher).
Listening to which, a bubble of laughter broke out on both of their lips.
Footsteps were heard, students started settling in their seats, and the loud murmurs hushed down to whispers.
"Good Morning Class"
"Gooood Morrningggg Ma'am", the students literally sang it to infuriate ma'am, this had been a tradition so Mrs.Rekha didn't mind it much. Ahana still remember the first few days when their class-teacher used to make them wish until they do it properly.
"Sit down", she authorized and started putting the books down which were in her hands.
"I got a complaint from your Chemistry Teacher today", then her eyes swept over the class to check on the guilty ones.
"And I have decided to change your seats and some names are there which have been specially referred. I won't speak them out but students beware".
"Rahul, you get up and switch seats with Gagan....."
After few more shifting, the teacher's eyes lander on Ahana, who sat silently waiting for her turn.
"Ahana...", Ahana's ears perked up hearing her name and her heartbeat started beating faster than its actual pace. Her eyes involuntarily moved towards her left, where a certain brown-haired guy was already looking towards her but the moment she turned, he pretended to look at ma'am.
"....you will sit with...Ishaan...", hearing this a surge of happiness ran through both of them, Ahana with a slow breath turned her head to meet her dark brown-orbs with the amber ones.
"you get up...", and just like a flickering flame of fire, it died down before it could even start.
".... and sit with Saloni", just what Ahana didn't want.
'Aaaaaaaaaaaaaah' screamed Ahana's subconscious while a teeth-showing smile couldn't stop itself from coming on Saloni's lips.
