"He might have gotten hurt Ahana", Saloni asserted in a scolding voice while nibbling on her cucumber-mayo sandwich.
Ahana nodded guiltily her eyes downcast looking at the resting green grass while her thoughts were running miles away.
'He could have gotten hit', she thought to herself and decided on apologizing. She quickly finished the last bite of the sandwich and dusted her hands and mouth with the napkin, "Let's go", she told to Saloni.
She looked up from where she was sitting, " "Whew?", with food still in her mouth, which caused her cheeks to puff up.
Ahana chuckled watching this and replied, "to penance".

"Hey", greeted Ahana brightly to a confused Ishaan and Aditya.
"Hey", greeted Aditya while Ishaan just faintly smiled at them.
Ahana continued while turning to Ishaan, "Sorry about the basketball incident, I thought that the basketball will land into the basket but then...", she couldn't continue, she was guilty.
Ishaan didn't for once thought it was her mistake and didn't even want an apology. When he sensed her discomfort he implied, "It's okay, it was my mistake to walk into the court when the match was being played."
And then his eyes landed on Saloni, he was grateful to her. He didn't even notice that a ball was coming his way since he was busy conversing with Saloni but fortunately, her reflexes were faster than him and that was the reason he was standing here and not dozing off on the bed of the medical room.
He turned towards Saloni, "Thankyou", he thanked her with a smile.
Her already happy face brightened more, "It's okay. And yes...in the midst all this you didn't answer that question?", she asked emphasizing on 'that' with a glint of mischievousness in her eyes.
Ahana who was discussing the chemistry assignment given to them with Aditya turned towards Ishaan and Saloni when she heard the question, "What didn't he answer?", she asked.
No! Ishaan panicked and silently prayed Saloni didn't ask the question openly before everyone. All his life he'd been to boys school and this was his first time in a normal school where girls were also there.
No one in this school knew about it until Saloni who had been deducing these past days got confirmed this very morning when she asked him genuine questions about his school life and friends. Communicating with her was easier than unlike in the morning until she asked that question.
Now he wishes he would have gotten hit, that way he didn't have to go through the humiliation he was going to go through.
"Oh nothing, I was asking him if he got selected in the team or not?", fortunately, she didn't and changed the question.
Ishaan was really grateful to Saloni.
