on the night of june 23, 2013, alaric saltzman was set to marry josette laughlin, when she was brutally murdered by her twin brother malachai parker. in their final efforts to save their family, the gemini coven, sought out to transfer the babies that were inside of josette into someone else. that someone else being, caroline forbes, and so she was tasked with being a mother of not one, not two, but three children.
kaiden rhys salvatore was born on march 15, 2014 to stefan salvatore and caroline forbes. the baby boy was not expected, at all, he was their very own miracle. the boy was one of three children, along with his sisters elizabeth and josette saltzman. their family was not a normal one, you see josette and elizabeth didn't share the same parents as kaiden, the girls were apart of a coven known as the gemini coven, a coven known for creating the sociopath known as, malachai parker.
you see what the forbes-salvatore family didn't know was that kaiden wouldn't get the opportunity to meet his father, well until he was 4. sadly, that wouldn't last for them either. hours after stefan and caroline had married, stefan had a choice to make, either he lets his brother die, or he chooses to leave his wife and child behind. stefan, being the hero, chooses to leave the love of his life behind along with his son, but not before speaking to his son one last time.
"Daddy?" The young boy asked.
"Hey kiddo," Stefan answered, as he knelt in front of him.
"Mommy said you were leaving. Where are you going? When are you coming back?"
"I'm going to a better place kiddo, and I'm not coming back. But I want you to know that no matter where I go or who I'm with, I will always love you. And you, Kaiden Forbes-Salvatore, are going to make me so proud, and remember that I will always be watching over you."
"Daddy, I want to go with you."
"No kiddo, you can't."
"Why not?"
"You still have a long life to live. You're going to make amazing friends, you're going to fall in love and face heartbreak. And you're going to make me so proud with whatever you choose to go on and do with your life."
Stefan stood from his spot in front of his son, and exchanged glances with Caroline. They didn't need to say goodbye, they had already said their goodbyes. But leaving his family was breaking him, he didn't want to do this. But it was either him or his brother, and he just couldn't live with his brother's death on his conscience. Caroline walked forward and carried her son, Stefan gave them one last glance and walked away.
"Daddy! Daddy! Please come back!" Kaiden shouted.
"Shh. It's okay," Caroline comforted the small blonde boy in her arms.

See the thing is that he's in love with, but she's shut out everyone and everything since her parents and uncle died. She's had feelings for other people, including his younger sister. But the questions that lie here are, will Kaiden and his friends be able to survive the school year with monsters hunting the knife down left and right? And will he be able to get the girl he's been pinning for over 6 years? Or will he be heartbroken if she falls for another?

▻ welcome back to another episode of me unpublishing and rewriting books. hopefully this turns out better than the last time.
▻ this book, being my first book ever written, holds a special place in my heart, so even if i wanted to i can't delete it, but i can rewrite it, so hopefully you enjoy this version of the newly named false god.
▻ and yes, i did rename this book. i wasn't happy with the previous title. (firm believer of blonde turned brunette kaiden!)
