"You're the only one who can make me angry then smile like nothing happened in the next 2 seconds. Like you got talent man."
"Lead me on girl if you must
Take my heart and my love
Take of me all that you want
And if there's a thing that you need
I'd give you the breath that I breathe
And if you ever yearn for the love in me
Whenever, Wherever, WhateverWish I knew if I could
Be the one that you would
Love forever and a day baby
And if there's a thing that you need
For you and your blood I would bleed
And if ever you yearn for the love in me
Whenever, Wherever, WhateverAnd if there's a thing that you need
I'd give you the breath that I breathe
And if you yearn for love in me
Whenever, Wherever, Whatever baby"Who the hell is listening to Maxwell?" I thought to myself getting out of my bed.
I went into the hallway and followed the music all the way to Jay's room. What the hell was he doing? I was hesitant to even go in there. He probably had one of his many freaks of the week in there.
Fuck it. I decided to just walk in.
"Why the hell is you listening to this?" I yelled chucking.
"Man get the fuck out." He said turning red.
"Ah shit, let me find out that Jay actually got feelings." I chuckled sitting down at his desk.
"Nah I was just cleaning my room. But you see my phone is dead so I just used Derrick's phone and I hooked the music up and this just came on." He mumbled.
"Nigga that's ya phone hooked up to the dock. It's good. Ain't nothing wrong with liking Maxwell." I replied throwing the ball in the air.
"Whatever. Wassup with you and giggles." He asked me referring to Kenya. That's what they called her. She was always laughing.
"Man nothing." I answered running my hands over my face.
"Right, I saw that shit that y'all was putting up on instagram last night."
"Forreal." I said
"You miss her?" He asked me.
"Yeah I miss her yo. She's so cute especially when I get mad at her and she wraps herself around me. Ha, I can't get enough of her." I answered smiling.
"Man gtf outta here and go home to ya girl." Jay said opening up his door.
"Yeah I wish. You ain't just see the video she just posted up. She not fucking with me anymore." I said getting up and walking towards his door.
"Nah, I'm finna look at it now." He answered grabbing his phone off the dock.
"Oh shit, you right I forgot. You was too busy in here listening to Maxwell." I said busting out laughing.
"Fuck you yo!" He yelled slamming his bedroom door.
I made my way back to my room and just sat down on my bed. I hope and pray that she not done with me. Jay is right tho. I do need to take my ass over there just not right now. Ima give it a little more time. That's what my heart is telling me to do.
"Hello." I answered on the first ring.
"Can I speak to Jay?" Kenya's voice boomed through my speaker.
"Yeah, hold up." I replied confused. I made my way towards Jay's room. Why the hell did she want to talk to him? I knocked on his door, he opened it up, and shook his head when he saw me standing there.
"Here man, she wanna talk to you." Jay said giving me my phone, walking out and shutting the door behind him.
"Hello." I whispered.
"Hey." She said.
"Hey, look we gotta talk." I replied.
"Yeah, I know. You first."
"Let me just start off by saying that I'm so sorry for hurting you. I made a mistake. I should've never ended things with you. I told you that I was going to be way different than those other dudes, but I was just like them. I gave up on you at a time that you needed me the most and I'm truly sorry. If I could changed everything that happened between us, I totally would. I'm also sorry about the shit that I posted up it was beyond childish and I just shouldn't have done it. Believe it or not. I do love you Kenya." I said.
"Are you serious? I guess I should apologize for the posts too than huh? This must really be a joke to you. Avian you broke my heart. You really left me. You just gave up on us. I was so ready to change for you. I was gonna take classes to deal with my attitude and everything. Hell I still would change for you. Truth is, I'm madly in love with you. I love you with everything in me and then some. I feel like you took me for a joke. But that's okay. It's what I'm used too. One more thing, I do wanna apologize for telling you what you said was irrelevant that night because it wasn't. It was real important to me. I didn't see it at the moment but I do understand. " She replied bursting into tears.
"Never in a million years would I think that we would be in this situation. That this would happen to us. I guess I was wrong huh?" She sobbed.
"Kenya, Kenya. I love you and I'm not giving up on us." I yelled at her.
"Goodbye Avi. " She replied sniffing.
"Baby your drunk. I'm on my way."
"No I'm fine. Your just saying all this cause you don't want me to do something to myself. But I'm good on that and I'm good on you. Just leave me alone. You won't hear from me and I won't bother you. I wish you nothing but the best." And with that Kenya hung up.
"Ugh. " I took a deep breathe. I slid on my bedroom slippers and my Northface coat. I ran down the stairs and into the kitchen snatching up my keys.
"Where you going?" Jay asked me.
"Kenya's she drunk as hell. " I answered walking towards the front door.
"I'm going with you." Jay replied grabbing just a coat off the hook. He was a real friend. Always here when I needed him and he didn't even really know me for long. Friends like Jay are very rare. So when you find them, you better keep them. You just may not find someone like them.
"Where y'all going? " Derrick questioned as him and Monica was walking up the stone path.
"To Kenya's she drunk and tripping." Jay answered as we made it to my car.
"We coming too." Monica replied climbing into the backseat with Derrick following behind her.
I made it to Kenya's within record time. We walked into her building and headed straight to the elevator. When we got out front of her door, Monica opened it. I rushed to her room, to see a drunk Kenya laid out in her bed eating fruit. Derrick,Jay and Monica checked up on her and then walked out of the room. I tried to feed her as much fruit as possible. She was going to hate herself in the morning. Anyway, when she turned her head, I pulled her into my arms. It felt so right. I really did miss this. I missed her. I gotta make this right. Nah scratch that, I'm gonna make this right, and that's a promise.
