"You guys are insane! Insane I tell you." I stomp my foot down on the hotel carpet, as I brushed my teeth.
Sam was sitting at the kitchen table with his laptop, looking through some news articles. Dean was standing in the kitchen, looking through the fridge.
"We have people on the inside. We'll get out just fine. Trust me." Dean looks over to me as he dug through some leftover food from the night before.
"I don't want you guys being hurt. It can happen, and it probably will. We've been through enough these past few months."
"You've got that right."
"Guys, I just remembered. What about Ava?" San shut his laptop and pulled out his cell phone.
He dialed the number and it said the phone line was dead. He grabbed the keys to the impala.
"Where are we going?"
"Checking to see if she's alright."
"Do you even know where she lives?" I look to him with crazy eyes.
"No, but I'm sure I can find out. Are you guys coming or not?"
"I will." I begin to walk to the door, grabbing my jacket on the way out.
"I'll stay here, get ready for later." Deans face was stuffed with leftover cheeseburger.
"Sounds good. Bye Dean." I wave to him as we walk out the door.
Sam opens the door for me and lets me in. I smile at him as he shuts the door behind me and gets into the drivers seat. He starts the car and begins to drive. The car ride was completely silent, until Sam turns the radio on just a bit. He begins to tap his fingers on the steering wheel, he seemed nervous.
"Sam, calm down." I place my hand on his leg and he flinches.
"I'm fine, what are you talking about?"
"You're practically sweating in your boots. Is it me?"
"What?" He tries to hide it, but I could tell it was me.
"Sam, you need to calm down. Me and you, we're golden. We're taking things slow and that's okay. Don't be afraid to touch me though."
He doesn't say anything. Sam and Dean were quite opposites of each other. Sam was gentle and kind, being careful with everything he said or did, and he always made sure it was okay. Dean however was more of a foxy kind of man. He had plenty of one night stands and could move from girl to girl without thought. Both of them were perfectly fine, but I was the type of girl that falls for the Sam type.
As I was deep in thought, Sam placed his hand on my thigh, still paying close attention to the road. He rubbed his fingers in circles on my jeans. I smile at him and he pulls into a driveway of a blue house. It suddenly looked familiar to me.
"Sam, I saw this in a vision of mine a few months ago before I met you."
"What did you see?"
"I saw a body in the master bedroom, torn to shreds."
He quickly gets out and runs to the front door, seeing it was already open. I follow slowly behind him, feeling for my gun in the hem of my pants. I told myself I never wanted to use this thing again and I hoped I didn't have to. He walked up the stairs slowly, turning the corner fast with his gun out. He quickly noticed the blood trail on the ground and motioned for me to follow.
I slowly followed until we got the bedroom, where I saw the body. It was a man, luckily not Ava. He was torn to shreds, he had probably been there for a few days. There were flies surrounding him. I held my shirt above my nose to keep myself from vomiting. Sam did the same and looked to the ground, he saw a ring.
"Ava." He held it up to the light.
"Was this her husband?"
"Fiancé. She's probably been gone for days, maybe even weeks."
"We'll find her, Sam. Don't worry."
He puts the ring in his pocket and walks out of the house. I stand there and look around for anything else but can't find anything. I walk out of the house to see Sam with his head in his hands sitting on the edge of the impala.
"Sammy." I walk up to him, holding my hands up to cup his face.
He had tears rolling down his face. His lip was quivering. He gives me eye contact and I see the sadness in his eyes.
"I couldn't save her."
"It's not your fault. For all we know, she could be alive. Maybe she got taken. We'll find her, okay?"
"But what if we don't?"
"It's not on you. It won't ever be. You can't save everyone."
"I'm sorry."
"You have nothing to be sorry for. It's okay to be upset. I'm here for you. I always will be."
I pull myself into him and place my lips on his. You could tell the tense in his body practically disappeared and he held me close. He was smooth and slow with it this time, not the way the demon had interpreted him in the hotel bathroom, it was practically the opposite. He grabbed my back and pulled me into him for a moment before he broke the kiss. We both stood there for a moment, feeling each other's breaths against our cold skin. He looked up to me and briefly smiled before standing up, and getting into the car.
The ride back was silent again, as it normally was. We arrived back at the hotel right before dark. Dean looked to us as we walked in to the room. I quickly sat on the bed and sprawled out.
"So?"
"She's gone. Fiancé is dead."
"That's odd. We'll find her later on. Don't worry."
"I'm mostly worried about what you boys are getting yourselves into later on."
"Again; we'll be fine. Don't worry about us so much."
"Oops. Sorry that I have feelings."
"Ang, we'll be fine. Trust me. I wouldn't do this if I knew I would be in danger. I wouldn't want to leave you with no trace." He places his hand on mine for a moment and gives me a reassuring smile.
"Alright. Well, should we go get food and get some rest?"
"Sounds amazing."
We all go to the diner connected to the hotel and grab a bite. We all act like nothing abnormal was happening. I see Dean smile for the first time in a long time. Sam was being extra cute and kept messing with me. It was making me seem like I actually was finally living a normal life again, but it was soon be one of the worst months of my life. But I didn't know it yet.
