The Traitor

Rex's POV

"REX THIS WAY!" I hear Cody yell in the distance as I see a tiny glimpse of Slick running into the main command room. Grunting I quickly skid to a stop turning and running after Cody as he nears the entrance. I don't understand why Slick would do this, clones are supposed to be loyal until our last breath and it's not like we have anywhere to go if we ever did this. Whatever. I can't get distracted right now we need to detain him and stop him from hurting anymore of our brothers. Entering the main command room with my blaster ready Cody copying my move, "He has to be in here somewhere" I nod as I go left around the main hologram table until something catches my eyes, looking up I smile seeing white clone armour and dark brown eyes staring at me. Looking at Cody I cough a little catching his attention, he looks up raising an eyebrow at me as I use an arc trooper signal to tell him that Slick is in the vent. He smiles at me, "Well now he's completely blacked us out. The powers gone and now we can't even contact the generals. What do you think he will do now?" I pretend to think hard, "If I were him I would disable the entire security system" Cody looks even more serious than before, "Go take some of the men and defend the security room" I nod leaving the room and crouching beside the door listening in ready to protect Cody when the time comes. In the room I hear Cody saying something to do with gun's empty Slick. That's my cue. I quickly go in aiming my blaster directly at Slick's head, "You know what's funny traitor. We knew that you wouldn't try to escape with the exits blocked" Slick scowls as Cody snatches back his blaster, "You knew I was here the whole time" I smirk at him before pushing him with my blaster, "Of course we knew traitor" He scowls again as Cody aims his blaster closer to Slick's head, "I'm not the traitor here... You are!" Before I could react he grabbed hold of my baster and used his elbow to smack me directly in the face knocking me to the floor.

I let out a grunt at the impact looking up with blurry vision seeing Slick aiming the blaster directly at me but Cody quickly slams his blaster into Slick's face as Slick tries to shoot at Cody. In a matter of seconds both of them are unarmed and before Cody could do much Slick grabs both of his shoulders forcing him to lean down before kneeing Cody in the chin and trying to escape. Before he can however Cody jumps up and jumps grabbing hold of his waist as they both fall to the floor. I watch as Cody begins punching Slick, "All we do is blindly follow orders and for what?!" Slick as he manages to block most of Cody's punches. I blink a few times slowly managing to stand up using the hologram table as a support watching as Slick wraps his legs around Cody's neck flipping Cody onto the ground as he begins punching the kriff out of Cody whom is able to block some but not all, "At least I'm getting something out of all this suffering" I glare hard before racing forward and placing him into a headlock forcing him backwards away from a stunned Cody, "Yeah I bet you sold out your brother's for some real shiny coin huh" Cody sits up looking dazed as he watches Slick and I. Suddenly Slick's head whips back hitting me in the bridge of my nose causing me to grunt but before I can retaliate he brings his elbow round and hits me with the elbow armor piece. I feel him grab my leg but due to the dizziness of being elbowed in the  face I can't do anything. He yanks me completely off the ground as I land directly onto his leg but that isn't the worst thing to happen. He grabs hold of my leg and yanks it backwards. My eyes squeeze shut as I let out a loud cry of pain faintly hearing my name being called. The bone grinds unnaturally as a loud crack is heard followed by a blinding flash of pain leaving me gasping on the floor trying to blink away the tears threatening to fall. With my eyes still closed I listen to the conversation that follows, "Yes she offered me money but she offered me something more important something you wouldn't understand freedom!" I open my eyes a slither just in time to watch Cody full on punch Slick chin upwards, he flies across the room before coming to a stop completely unconscious. Cody looks to me, worry filling his face as he gently grabs hold of my hand as I continue to gasp the pain still as blinding, "Hang on Rex the boys will bring a medic" I nod groaning softly feeling the stinging needle like pain coming from both my leg and my back. 

An hour later Slick is behind a ray shield ready to be sent off back to Kamino. Me however I'm stuck in the kriffing med bay. I groan softly feeling the painkillers taking the edge off the pain coming from my leg that's currently wrapped in bacta. The doors slid open as General Skywalker comes in, I salute to him, "At ease Rex I just came to check if you are alright" I smile at him as he takes a seat beside my bed, "I'll be up and about in no time sir. How are the rest of our men?" He smiles at me before leaning back a serious look coming across his face, "Shaken up after Slick's betrayal especially his squad. Poor guys. We have already interrogated them and not a single one of them knew of Slick's plan. But other than that the rest of the squad have been busy getting some supplies in after Slick destroyed those walkers" I nod feeling sympathy for my Vod'ikas. Anakin pats my uninjured leg, "Right well I'll leave you to rest" I nod watching as General Skywalker leaves the room only for Cody to come in. I grin at him as he gives me a small smile, "How are you Vod'ika?" He says as he gently sits on the bed being careful to not hit anywhere that's delicate I smile at him, "I'm fine Codes what about you though? Slick messed you up pretty well" He laughs at me as he allows me to snuggle into his chest, "Yes well he didn't break my leg" I playfully punch him in the chest grinning slightly, "Your a di'kutla" His laughs get harder at the Mandalorian insult, "Oh hush you need to rest if you want to have any chance at fighting in the next battle" I smile letting my eyes fall shut as he begins to massage my fluffy fuzzy blonde hair, "Night Ori'vod" His lips brush against my forehead as I feel him smile against my skin, "Night Vod'ika" I smile slightly feeling my body relax into his embrace. Sleep finally wrapping me into it's arms lulling me into a deep undisturbed sleep with Cody's breathing echoing around the dark space.
