Laurence sat in the car and I drove off within a second, not wanting to stay any longer. I chose to stay silent because I knew if I were to talk, I could cry. My eyes stayed focused on the muddy road ahead of me, the tires making a disgusting noise as the mud flew up against my vehicle. The first person I dropped off back at home was Kat, thankfully.
She stood outside of the car, door still opened, waiting to close.
She looked at me, "See you guys later." A tiny grin appeared on her face though it looked as if it hurt her to do so.
"Bye." I replied, looking ahead again as my jaw tightened itself. The door closed and I continued on my journey of dropping Laurence off next.
"Is everything okay?" Laurence questioned me, fixing his chocolate brown hair and brushing it off of his forehead with his hand.
"Yeah," I paused as my eyes threatened to burn themselves with tears. "No, Kat broke up with me."
He blinked, "I'm so sorry. I'm here for you man." He rubbed my shoulder with a soft hand. I nodded with a weak grin. I appreciated his efforts even when I was down in the dumps. Laurence then flicked on my radio and that radio man came on.
"Sorry about that, my dear listeners. I suppose my guest didn't want to be confronted." The man sighed heavily. My eyebrows furrowed together.
"Wait, wasn't that-
"Yes. That's the guy we just saw in the shed. His name is West." Laurence answered before I even got out my question. He sat back in his seat with all his weight, crossing his arms.
"What's he talking about?" I inquired, occasionally glancing at Laurence who carried an irritated appearance.
"He wanted me to talk to him on his stupid show and he tried to confront me about how I came into his house uninvited."
James sat up in between the two of us, "I mean, can you really blame the man?" He suggested.
"It wasn't my idea to go there." Laurence spat with anger.
My eyes widened at the sudden act of aggression.
"We love to explore places, how can you be mad at me?" I choked up.
"Yeah, we like to explore abandoned places. Not people's homes." He argued back, looking out his window.
"How was I supposed to know he lived in the shed?" I scoffed.
"Guys, just calm down-
"No. You guys constantly tell me what to do." Laurence interrupted James, then continued, "Yes, you weren't supposed to know that somebody lived there. But you pushed further. And look where it's gotten us." Laurence rambled, throwing his arms.
Without even realizing, tears raced down my face and onto my coat, luckily, James or Laurence didn't seem to notice. I can't lose two people in one day. Especially my best friend.
"You're right, I'm sorry." I sighed softly. We pulled into his driveway. I wiped the streams of tears off of my face before he glanced back at me before getting out.
"I'm staying home for a while. Don't bother me until then." Laurence states before slamming the car door and going inside. My eyes trailed down at my lap as a wave of sadness went over me. James crawled into the front seat, buckling himself in the seatbelt, and finally putting his hand on my shoulder.
"Are you okay?" He cocked his head to the side, attempting to get into my now sad eyes that I wouldn't reveal.
My arm brushed his hand off as I put my hands back onto the steering wheel to drive home finally.
"Yeah." I simply stated.
The radio still played of the radio man, West.
"He is a nice kid though, don't get me wrong. He is just confused still, about the town we live in, I mean. If you wonder, you get into trouble." He pauses.
"This man is beyond strange." James scoffed, rolling his eyes. I stayed silent, feeling myself slightly intrigued by West, though.
"And when you get into trouble, here in Tiltown, say goodbye to the good because all you will get from there on out, will be nothing but bad things." He finishes.
"What do you reckon he means?" I asked my brother who was hardly paying any attention to the radio.
"It's mumble jumbo." His shoulders raised up to his neck before he stared at me for a moment, raising his eyebrows. "Don't tell me you believe him."
"Would you shut up? It's an interesting point of view." I spat at him, who only responded with silence. In the corner of my eye, I saw him grin.

After we had gotten home, I plopped onto bed and just stared out my window, watching nature for hours. My best friend is angry with me and I got my heart broke. What a day. I scoffed at how pathetic today was, or how I was. My body jumped in response to an abrupt door opening, my door.
I stared at my older brother who dangled keys in his hand, "Let's go to the restaurant. You need happiness."
I groaned, "Whatever. Let me get dressed and I'll meet you in the car." Leaving me to fix myself, I dragged my feet to the bathroom sink and rinsed my face with water. I straightened up my messy and blond curls, meeting up with James in his car.
"Since mom and dad are still working, and you need some cheering up, we'll hang out together." James explained his plans to me as he drove down the road.
"I don't need pity." I lowly stated.
He laughed, "I'm not giving you pity. You need to put yourself in the light, and if you won't do it, then I have to push you into it." He wasn't entirely wrong however. I always need to be approved by somebody, so I always ordered Kat and Laurence around. Suppose I could see why Laurence became so angry with me. Needing approval from everyone and trying to be spontaneous all the time became tiring. So I decided to swallow my defeat and stay quiet, as for he was right about me.

We sat at a booth and ate our burgers with a coca-cola for each of us. Neither one of us would stop talking, whatever one of us had to say something, the other would have something to say immediately.
