We were blindfolded as we pulled up in front of the lab in the woods, before being pushed and shoved out by multiple hands. I stifled a cry as we were being pushed down the stairs and into the building. From both sides of me, I could hear deep grunting or soft cries.
"You'll be found out." Our Abraham spat. Just as he finished the statement, a loud slap echoed throughout the room causing me to flinch. From a distance, I heard another soft cry, as if they were trying to be quiet. Despite not being able to see, I turn my head to the side.
"Kat?" I whispered.
"Yes?" She responded from the left of me. So, there were more people in the room with us than we knew of. Just then, heavy footsteps stopped just in front of me.
"Laurence, you were truly a special one. You pushed and pushed, but despite your efforts, you got this ending." He sighs softly.
"Who said that this was the ending?" I asked him, looking straight forward. His breathing right in front of my face as we were all on our knees.
"I did. I decide everything here in Tiltown," he paused before his footsteps departed from me. "Now, we can do this the easy way or the hard way."
"What're you talking about?" West groaned the question.
"You either cooperate with us and do as we say, or we force you. Either way, we are going to make you a happy civilian of Tiltown." Abraham's clone confirmed. Before any of us could respond, I hear West and the real Abraham grunting and yelling as they were taken away from us. My blindfold had got ripped from my face and I was face to face with Abraham.
"You won't get a-" An electric shock shot through my body, causing me to shake against the pain. Once I was free from the pain, my face hit the floor as I breathed heavily.
"Laurence!" Kat called out, her voice sounding wobbly. However, I didn't respond due to the surprise visit I saw, standing in the corner with tears strolling down her face.
"Mom?" I said, a tear coming from the corner of my eye. Abraham pushed me back up to sit me up once again and chuckled.
"Your family is stubborn, but I was finally able to convince her to join me without even having to clone her! Isn't that wonderful?" Abraham explained, smiling down at me.
"You need to help us!" I cried out to my mom who continued sniffling away at her tears.
"She won't be doing that. She knows the rules." Abraham tightened his voice as another masked person grabbed Kat and dragged her off into another room, out of my view. Then, James and Jerrick were taken, leaving only me and Diego with the clone. Silence took over the room as I could hear muffled yelling and cursing coming from the other room. Keeping my head down, I feel Abraham's presence hovering over me.
"None of this would've happened if you and your group of friends would've just minded your own business." He spoke, lifting my chin up with his rough hand. Shaking my head away from his grasp, I looked down once again. Or at least I had tried, until I feel his arm smack my cheek. I coughed, a trickle of blood coming from my mouth and onto the cold concrete floor. I hear my mother gasp loudly and footsteps rushing over to me but abruptly stopped.
"You know the rules." Abraham growled. Just then, I was grabbed by my shoulder and being taken away. My eyes stay in Diego who kept his head down, and I couldn't tell how he was feeling or even thinking.
"This wasn't apart of the deal!" My mother cried out. Deal? I fought against the tight grip but the man wasn't budging. I was brought into a dim room with beds in a line on both sides with people that appeared asleep, with tubes in their arms. I spotted Jerrick in a bed, still barely awake along with Kat and James.
"What did you do to them?" I asked, but no response. As we stop in front of my friends that were laying down, the masked man begins to undo the tubes. Once he finished up, he rips off the mask and revealed his face to me.
"Abraham?" I said with shock. He put a finger to his lips and before he could reply, another man in a mask came up behind him, ripping his off.
"We fought off those brainwashed fools." West scoffed, but couldn't help but grin proudly. As James stands to his feet, he looks at us.
"They aren't brainwashed." He admitted as he scratched at his arm, where the tube had been.
"How do you mean?" Abraham questioned him as the rest of my friends stood unsteadily.
"There's multiple rooms with all of the real people who moved here. He had cloned them all when people started talking, so they didn't think anything of it." James explained to us. All of a sudden, we heard yelling coming from a nearby hallway. We all glanced at each other within an instance.
"We gotta go!" West exclaimed with panic.
"But what about-
Abraham interrupted, "West and I have a plan. Trust us." He said as he leaded us. Following last, I have my eyes locked on my friends with concern. Kat hanged onto Jerrick weakly as he did the same with her. West and Abraham leaded the group and James walked besides me. Once we arrived in the main room that held the exit door, we came face to face with Abraham's clone who had his arms around my mother with Diego standing against the wall with a gun. Abraham's help was now on the ground, yet no blood underneath their bodies.
"James, get them in the car." Abraham ordered as he threw his keys at James who caught them just in time. He hurriedly collected Jerrick and Kat as they got to the safety of the vehicle. Diego, West and the real Abraham stood by me, keeping their death glares on him and my mom who was struggling against his grip.
"Let her go!" I yelled at him.
"I don't want your mother Laurence, I want Abraham." He stated calmly. As he and West began debating, I spot Diego sneakily walking behind the clone holding my mother.
"Okay, fine." Our Abraham suddenly agreed. West and I both narrowed our eyes at him.
"What? No!" West argued. Before anything else could be said, Diego struck the clone in the back of his head hard. Falling to the ground, he let go of my mother, letting her fall to the ground.
"Let's go!" West yelled, helping my mother up as we all followed from behind. I glance back and notice Diego was just standing there, over the clone of Abraham.
"Diego?" I called out to him. Taken out of his seemingly like trance, his snapped his head at me with surprise.
"I'll be there in a minute." Diego replied quietly. I nodded, hesitantly heading out and meeting up with the others in the vehicle.
