After a few moments of us debating the situation about Elouise and Abraham, We decide to head back inside of the room. However, To our immediate shock, Abraham is standing over Elouise. The veins popping out of his neck as he breathes heavily. West rushes up and shoves him back as Abraham falls into a chair.
"Did he hurt you, honey?" West asks Elouise who appeared frightened by Abraham.
"No, he didn't. We were just talking and he got angry that I was right and he was wrong." Elouise said as she squinted her eyes at Abraham who was chuckling, but not because he was amused this time. The dry chuckle held anger inside of it.
"Obviously we can't leave this twin alone for five seconds." I said simply, however this ticked him off even more as he stood up hurriedly. West stands in front of both Elouise who was sat in bed and me, staring his twin brother down.
"Be honest with me, Are you working with James?" West inquired Abraham. Abraham stood with his arms crossed, glancing back and forth between the three of us. The air had suddenly become tense and tight, I felt as though I were almost suffocating. I cleared my throat awkwardly attempting to stop the feeling. Because of this, I got a glare from Abraham. His eyes held something in them as he grinned slightly.
"You okay?" Abraham asked me.
West looked back at me, "Laurence?" He said.
"I'm good. He's the one we're questioning." I pointed to Abraham.
He threw his hands up defensively, "okay, okay. Can I at least fill up my cup before I'm suddenly interrogated? I'm no good without coffee." Abraham picks up his cup off of the floor and wonders into the busy hallways again.
"What did you guys fight about anyways?" West asked Elouise.
Her eyes traveled to the side, "Well.." She pauses.
Elouise's POV
Abraham continued watching me as I impatiently waited for West and Laurence to come back in. Abraham made me nervous, nearly fearful. I know, he's my brother by blood but at the same time, is he truly my brother? He rises from his chair and walks over to me, his head hovering over me now.
"So, Laurence is your friend?" He asks me. His eyes stare through me as though he were searching for the answers in my eyes. I squirmed my feet around from underneath the blanket.
"Yeah, we've been friends for a while now." I said as I swallowed hard. I sat myself up for a moment to search for West and Laurence, but was pushed down roughly by Abraham.
"When you get out of here today, I'm going to fix all of this my way." He spoke as his jaw tightened.
"Fix what? The town? You know you can't." I scoffed.
"No, no I'm not going to fix this town the way you think. I'm going to get rid of this town once and for all. That's my way of fixing it." He spat.
"You're not like West at all. You're crazy!" I yelled at him as he stared at me, His nostrils flares with anger.
He stepped closer, "You guys are just in my way! You guys are the crazy ones for even staying in this forsaken town!" He yelled back, His neck revealing veins through his tanned skin. Before we could finish arguing, West and Laurence burst into the room. I felt as though I could finally breathe again. Abraham is nothing like West.
Laurence's POV
"What does he mean, he's going to get rid of this town?" I asked as we all looked at one another for answers.
"I don't know what is wrong with him. I don't remember him being so," West paused for a moment, attempting to find the right words. "Strange and violent." He looks down at the floor.
"But we were kids when we got separated. So, who was he around all these years?" Elouise questioned, shrugging her shoulders slightly.
"Wait a minute, where is he? He shouldn't have taken so long." West says before leaving the room. I stand in the room with Elouise as an awkward silence fills the air while waiting for West's return.
"You doing okay?" Elouise abruptly asks me.
"I don't know anymore." I admit quietly, barely enough for her to hear. Before she could say anything, West rushes back into the room, trying to catch his breath with his hand on his thigh.
"What happened?" I asked him.
"He was sneaking away while we were talking in here. He wasn't really getting coffee, he was leaving. I tried to catch up but he drove off." West sighed heavily.
"Well, She'll be able to leave today so we'll figure out what to do then." I say.
As we finally leave the hospital, Jerrick pulls up in his car. I take the front seat while Elouise and West sit in the backseat.
"I can't wait to be back home with my family." West sighs as he combs his hand through his hair.
"Oh no. I just remembered that I have to stay with Abraham." Elouise says as her voice shakes, clearly unsettled by this.
"No, you'll stay with my family." West says as he rubs her back. I see Elouise smile back at West, finally at ease.
"By the way, I heard about you and Kat. I'm sorry." I apologize.
"It's okay, I'm not really upset about it. I couldn't feel the same connection with her like before, so I thought it was for the best too." He grins. The two of us talking again like we used to do all the time almost made me feel like life was normal again... almost.
As we pull up by West's shack house, We all happen to take notice of the fact that the door is wide open. Elouise, West and I all get out with West going first.
"Amber? Scott?" West calls out to his family as he walks into the house slowly. As we get closer, I hear laughter from below. First, West goes down, Then Elouise and finally I go down the ladder. Might I say, The view was a shocker.
