(RiverClan POV)

"Quailwing, any news from the border patrol?" Greenstar asked her deputy. The brown and black she-cat nodded gravely.

"Breezestorm told me that his patrol caught a whiff of rogue scent, straying very close to our border," Quailwing replied.

The RiverClan leader pondered in thought. These past few days, their patrols reported rogue scent on their border, which was worrying. Her dreams have been dark and Foxspring told her StarClan might be warning her of troubles.

A familiar yowl broke her thoughts. "Greenstar! We have ThunderClan intruders in our territory!"

Greenstar's fur bristled with suspicion. Is ThunderClan invading? she wondered. "Blazefur," she addressed the tom. "How many ThunderClan cats are there?"

"Two," he replied. "It's Specklebreeze and a younger looking warrior."

Greenstar narrowed her eyes. Her old friend from her apprenticeship. They had fun together, meeting at the border to talk. But it stopped when they were discovered and Specklebreeze told her that they can't meet anymore.

"Tell the patrol not to attack them," she mewed finally. "Bring them to camp."

Blazefur nodded and sped off. Soon, his patrol arrived, escorting the two ThunderClan warriors.

"Why are you here?" Greenstar asked calmly.

Specklebreeze looked at her and mewed, "We need RiverClan's help." Yowls of disapproval arose from the clan.

"Our leader and deputy are in trouble," the younger white warrior mewed. "Rogues are also threatening to attack our camp but we need as many warriors we can spare to help them."

"What if it is an ambush?" Toadleg challenged, ready to pounce.

"I promise you, it is not an ambush," Greenstar could tell that Specklebreeze was struggling to keep calm. "Froststar and Appleshade needs help!"

The ThunderClan warrior's words shocked the clan. "Brownstar is dead?" Greenstar mewed in surprise.

The white she-cat nodded slowly as Specklebreeze spoke, "Please consider, Greenstar."

"I will," she mewed. "We shall talk in my den. Quailwing, you too." The RiverClan deputy stood up and led the ThunderClan warriors to Greenstar's den, with the other RiverClan warrior watching them with hostility.

In her den, Specklebreeze shifted her paws to get comfortable while the white she-cat watched them with hopeful eyes.

"Firstly, who is the white she-cat?" Greenstar asked. It is much better talking with cats you know, she thought.

"My name is Softfoot," the white she-cat answered for her. "Could we get straight to the point? Cats are in danger out there."

Greenstar sighed. "As much as I wish to help, RiverClan needs its warriors. Our patrols have scented rogues straying too close to our border."

"Our camp may also be in danger," Quailwing added.

Suddenly, Specklebreeze's fur fluffed up until she was twice her normal size. "It is my sister's kit out there! In trouble! Those rogues are so dangerous that Brownstar was killed because of them!" she yowled angrily.

Both Greenstar and Softfoot was surprised by her harsh tone. "We didn't say that RiverClan will not help you," Quailwing mewed calmly, although in her eyes was horror that a leader with lives died quickly.

"Fine," Greenstar decided. "RiverClan will help you. I will send a patrol to help."

Specklebreeze calmed down and gave a sigh of relief. They went out of the den while Greenstar called a patrol to help the ThunderClan cats.

The leader of the patrol, Mudpelt nodded to the ThunderClan cats. "Lead on." Behind him, Sunfeather, Heavytail and Breezestorm looked determined.

"Let's go," Specklebreeze mewed.

Silvercloud followed the scent to a large dark den, and she saw Goldenfeather, Lilypaw and Stormleaf standing outside with nervous looks.

Stagwind had insisted for Patchheart to stay at camp, for his injuries could get infected.

"There are many rogues in there," Stormleaf mewed. "Too many to count in the darkness. When they stepped in, they were ambushed and we went in to help. But we were injured and Froststar told us to fetch help."

"Hopefully, RiverClan will help us," Silvercloud mewed. "If not, there will be many injuries."

"You will need a plan," an unfamiliar voice spoke, stepping out of the bushes. It was Breezestorm, with a patrol behind him. Specklebreeze and Softfoot walked towards her, looking relieved.

"RiverClan have agreed to help us," Softfoot mewed. "And as Breezestorm said, we need a plan."

Silvercloud looked at the members of the RiverClan patrol, consisting of Mudpelt, Sunfeather, Heavytail and Breezestorm himself.

"We have nine warriors," Silvercloud announced. "But many rogues are in there. I suggest, a cat to try breaking the den from the top, letting in light. If not, one could go in to lead the rogues outside."

"It is a good plan," Webfoot spoke, "but what do we do next?"

"We fight," Breezestorm mewed. "The others will look out for Froststar and Appleshade. If the battle is going badly, we run out quickly, and make a new plan."

All the cats nodded. "Then it is decided," Silvercloud mewed. "We will go with the plan and show the rogues what true warriors are made of."
