I parked the car in the garage and decided to rest in the car for a while.
Breathe in, breathe out, I whispered to myself. The mere fact that I had spent my day walking around in six inch stilettos was already tiring enough. I honestly needed a break.After minutes of relaxing I decided it was time to get out of the car. Reluctantly I turned off the engine and hopped out of my sedan. The sharp clicks of my heels against the floor echoed as I walked up the stairs.
It took me a few seconds to get to the door and unlock it. I smiled preparing for a warm hug from my husband as soon as I walked in. But it faded soon enough as no one came to welcome me. Not even my pittie ran to twirl around my leg.
What's going on?
"Hello?" I removed my shoes and put them on the shoe rack right next to the door. "Babe, I'm home! I got you some chipotle!" The house is dead silent. Is he even at home? I could've sworn I saw his car on the driveway.
I hear something drop upstairs and I grabbed the nearest weapon I could find. An umbrella. I quietly make my way upstairs. The closer I got, the more noise I heard. Silent sniffling and whimpering coming from my bedroom. I opened the door getting ready to attack- and find my husband on the floor cuddling my dog? Letting out a huge sigh I dropped the umbrella. "You nearly scared me Noah I was literally about to knock you out with my umbrella. Don't do that again- what's wrong?" My mood changed quickly as I saw a tear drop onto the carpet.
"You know that girl who you told me about almost every day?", he said staring into space.
"Yeah," I almost smiled thinking of her, but I hid the smile because of the way Noah was acting.
In a voice so timid, softer than a whisper, he said to me,
"She's dead"
