I woke to my alarm blaring in my ear and it was loud and annoying that there was no way I was going back to sleep. I had to go to the Agreste mansion today to take to Mr. Agreste about my designs for the Christmas eve gala. I go downstairs and feel the tension in the air between my parents so I try to lighten the mood the best way possible.
"Good morning mama, morning papa."
Mom looks up at me and smiles.
"Good morning dear, how did you sleep?"
I slept great, how did you sleep?"
"I slept well dear thank you for asking."
Papa looked up from his newspaper and gave me a small smile.
"I'm glad you slept well Marinette, do you have any work you need to do today?"
"I do actually, I have to deliver some designs to Mr. Agreste at the mansion and then finish Ayla's wedding dress and bridesmaids dresses."
Mama and papa look at me like I have gone crazy and then mama gets wide eyes.
"Alya and Nino are engaged!"
"Yep I will be pretty busy the next few days trying to get the designs and finished. I am sorry that I won't be able to help in the bakery often, I just need to stay ahead of the game."
Papa gave me a proud smile and a low chuckle.
"Marinette never apologize for following your dreams and working hard on them. As long as you don't over work yourself and are taking free time to spend with others I am more than happy to let you do your designs and work in the bakery only when necessary."
"Thanks papa, well I am going to go finish my designs for Mr. Agreste before I do anything else. Love you both."
"We love you too."
As I made my way up to my room I felt happy as I was able to make both mama and papa happy this morning. I opened up the trap door and felt my smile grow as I was going to show Mr. Agreste my designs this morning.
"Hey Tikki can you hand me the red thread please?"
"Of course Marinette."
By the time I finish sewing the last stitch on my dress I got a call from Alya and I know that if I don't answer she will blow up my phone. I do the only thing I can and I answer it.
" Hey girl, glad to see you up bright and early."
"Wow thanks so much Alya."
" So I was wondering if you were going to the gala on Christmas eve?"
" Oh Alya you know I have to for Nathalie, why do you ask?"
" well I won't be there because I have some wedding planning to do and you have a bachelorette party to plan."
