Her pace quickened as her heart began to hammer in her chest. She threw her hoodie over her head and shoved her hands in her pockets, trying to keep her shaking state out of sight.

Rebecca nervously navigated through the quiet streets, cutting through alleyways, taking unpredictable turns, all while she purposely avoided looking behind her.

The night was dark and the few streetlights that lit up the area were barely enough to help you see ten feet ahead of you. The orange haze that the lights illuminated the pavement with was surprisingly calming, and the setting would have been completely serene if it weren't for the fact that there was one huge issue with the situation she was in.

She was being followed.

She looked to her left and right to find nobody whatsoever in her sight. The quick glance she got before she started walking didn't help her identify the person much. It seemed to be a guy dressed in all black, with a hood pulled down low over his face. He seemed tall and muscular which lead Rebecca to believe that if he caught up to her, he could easily overpower her and snap her like a toothpick.

Her chance to make it into town where there would be plenty of other people to use as a distraction was long gone and the streets were becoming more and more unfamiliar.

As she continued walking she thought of anything and everything that could give her some peace of mind. She cursed herself for not charging her phone before she left, and with her hands still in her pockets, she slowly and carefully grabbed onto her keys positioning them outwards in case things took a turn for the worst.

The cold air blew on her face causing a chill to go down her spine, and she squinted her eyes as she tried to focus on something she thought she saw moving in front of her in the distance. As the moving figure came more into focus and got closer she noticed another person walking alone.

When the person continued to come closer she noticed it was another guy who seemed to be tall and extremely muscular like the man that was following her.

She looked down, making sure to avoid eye contact and when she heard the man's footsteps shuffling closer and then come to a sudden halt she found it strange. She began to look up but her eyes met the chest of the man before her body crashed into his.

"Watch it." She hissed and looked up at the man with a deathly glare. Once she saw who it was her face immediately softened as the man's lips grew a sly smirk. "Colby."

He shoved his hands into his jean pockets before speaking, his smirk never faltering, "It seems like we can't stop running into each other."

"We've only run into each other twice." Rebecca quickly stated with an eye roll.

"Three times actually. Four including now." He responded even faster, making her laugh.

Rebecca crossed her arms over her chest and tilted her head to the side, "Well, aren't you observant."

"Only when I want to be." His smirk became even more prominent, making Rebecca shake her head with a smile. "What are you doing lurking around on these streets, especially at this time?"

"Well, I seem to be a little lost." Rebecca quickly looked behind her before continuing, "And I'm pretty sure I'm being followed."

Colby nodded slightly before looking at the man who wasn't even trying to hide, and back at Rebecca, "What's your plan?"

Rebecca shrugged, "I don't really have one."

"What were you gonna do? Walk around for the entire night hoping he'd go away?" Colby questioned laughing a bit.
