Yulia's POV

Karine gave me a quick hug, wishing me the best of luck. It made me freeze for a second, but I quickly recomposed myself. I unconsciously clutched her green coat that now hung freely around me. It smelled like warm cinnamon, which brought an appreciative smile to my lips, though I'm sure it didn't reach my eyes. I was ashamed that I never thanked her for her hospitality. The disappointment quickly washed away however when I looked up to see an enigmatic man in a professional suit waiting for me.

His face showed no sign of emotion, his blue eyes void of any reaction when they landed on me. I wanted to say something, to ask who he was, but the constant depressing weight on my shoulders held me back. The atmosphere turned even more awkward when I heard Karine shut the door. Crap. I internally grimaced, slowly finding the courage to look up again at the giant standing before me. The man seemed to be lost in thought, his attention keenly set on the house behind me. My eyebrow raised in confusion, but he quickly turned his attention towards me.

"Are you ready to go, miss Khigir?" He suddenly asked me out of the blue. His voice was deep, professional, and straight to the point. It made me shiver, other than the chilling breeze.

"I guess..." I mumbled, still tired. I could feel his burning gaze on me and I suddenly took interest in the snowy ground. The man hummed in acknowledgment and I heard him take a step forward, the ground crunching under his feet.

"I'm sorry that we have to meet under such circumstances," my eyes instantly snapped up, catching his softened blue orbs, "my name is Dionisiy Krasimir." He extended his hand out to me which I reluctantly shook.

"Yulia..." My face remained neutral, still curious as to his purpose here... Dionisiy seemed to catch on quickly and answered my unspoken question.

"I'm here to escort you to the airport, under your father's orders." Oh. My eyes widened at the mention of my father. Didn't Karine also say something about leaving now? I mentally facepalmed, I seem to be less focused after... well...

I'm taken out of my thoughts when Dionisiy takes a few steps over to his black Hyundai Solaris and opens the passenger door. That must be my signal. Wasting no time, I begin making my way over to him.

"Thank you." I mumble, settling in the leather seat. Dionisiy shot me a small smile, closing the door. As soon as he made his way over to the passenger seat, he started the car and I immediately felt warm air. I let out a reliving sigh, and hugged Karine's coat closer to me. It was genuinely comforting to have, and it's sweet smell calmed me. It was so different from my mom, who usually smelled more woodsy. Dionisiy began driving, and we sat in silence for a couple of minutes.

I began to think over this entire series of events, and my blood started to boil over the fact that I was going to meet my father. By the sounds of it he must be rich, and obviously very respected. Well respected my ass, he was getting no respect from me. I didn't care if my mom loved him, or that he's my dad- he had no regard for my mother's passing. My anger unfolded tenfold when I thought about him taking me from her as soon as she died. There was no doubt about it; he's a cold-blooded, heartless monster.

"Miss Khigir?" Dionisiy broke the silence with a single address that made my anxiety spark. I glanced over at the man, he never took his eyes from the road.

"Y-yes?" I asked quietly, my hands folded. Nervous was an understatement.

"I was wondering if you are hungry, we do have time for a quick stop." I stared at him, processing his words with consideration.

"Didn't Mr Khigir say to leave immediately, Mr Krasimir?" I chose my words carefully, refusing to call the man my father. Dionisiy took a quick glance at me, his blue eyes felt scrutinizing. Maybe he's going over the fact that I completely have no regard for the man who's my father. Suddenly Dionisiy chuckled, effectively confusing me.
