"Do you need any help?" A boy asked.

"No I'm fine. They're almost done if you want to take a seat."

The boy nodded in response.

After a few moments of silence the girl set a plate of onigiri on the table, "Dinner??" A similar looking boy asked eagerly coming out of the hallway.

"Mhm."

"Yay~"

The two boys ate as the girl sat on the kitchen counter watching them lovingly.

"Aren't you going to eat?" One of the boys asks.

"Oh I will. Not yet though. I-I'll eat after you guys finish."

"Nwonshwense!" The other boy exclaimed with food in his mouth. "Shwit down, *gulp*, and eat."

"*Sigh* I can never catch a break with you two, can I?"

"Nope." They said in sync.

The girl ate with them, laughed, and talked, filling the home with warmth all throughout the night.

Knock knock knock

"Good morning," No reply, "I came here to inform you that you are going to be taken care of by a new nurse. Your last one quit. Your new nurse will be here any minute, now if you'll excuse me." He said leaving, shutting the door behind him.

The news was dropped on her like a bomb. Suddenly, unexpected, and unwanted.

Huh? The girl thought. Her eyes widened and her hands squeezed the blanket on the bed. The tears collecting in her eyes threatening to come flood out any minute. She looked at the ceiling and let her head fall closing the gap between her and the pillow. The tears slowly evaporated and she laid there confused and scared. Was everyone going to leave her? Was she just not good enough? Could she ever be loved?

"U-Uh h-hello. M-My name i-is *gulp* H-Haruko Futo... It's nice to meet you..."

The small girl looked up. She inspected the woman, taking her mind off the previous subject. She was pretty, she had brown hair, and light skin. Y/N was excited. She was given another chance to try and be better. A grin spread across her face before she knew it and the new nurse looked at her with bright eyes.

"I-I hope we can work together!"

====================

Y/N was enrolled in a series of tests and exercises to help her grow strong and healthy bones, skin, muscles, and vocal chords.

"Hum for me."

"HMMM!! *Cough* *Cough*"

"Softly! Softly."

The little girl took a drink of water. That hurt.

"Hmmmm."

"Good, good." The nurse said, taking notes, "Alright, so it looks like you have no problem using your vocal chords it's just painful, correct?"

The girl nodded.

"So we'll just have to build them up!" The nurse said happily.

The girl matched her enthusiasm with the nurse's, "Hm!"

The girl only nodded.

"I."

"I."

"Don't."

"Down't."
