I hold a bag of frozen peas to my cheek. I absolutely hate peas and I will just throw them away after this. I am in the kitchen talking with Leah, one of three of the maids. Zayn's property is too big for me to clean and take proper care of all by myself and since Zayn is always away we hired maids. They only come once week, sometimes twice if Zayn decides to have people over.
"What happened to your face?" Leah asks clearing out the refrigerator. "I have seen all these articles but you could never trust those."
"A paparrazi got out of control," I stick to the story I told El. "What kind of stories did you read?" I know I shouldn't be asking because I'll just get upset over it.
"Well one said you were cheating on Zayn with Luke and Eleanor found out and beat you up," she looks up at me. "Then there was one where you found Zayn cheating and instead of going with you he stayed with the girl. So you got mad and attacked the girl but ended up losing. Zayn then sent Luke out to tell you never to speak to any of them again."
"Wow," I mumble.
"Right!" she agrees, "There were a crap ton more, all of them being stupid as hell"
"Oh well, let them think what they want. I'm going to go to the soup kitchen to help out with the lunch rush. If Zayn asks, tell him I'll be back for dinner." I stand up from the stool I was sitting on and grab my keys.
"Sure thing!" she says scrubbing one of the shelves from the fridge. "Have fun."
"Thanks," I exit the kitchen and walk outside. When I'm in my car get out my phone and open up twitter.
The first thing I see is my mentions blown up. I spot Mandy's name and see the pictures we took when she stayed over. Most of the retweets and replies are negative towards me.
@ZaynMalikisMyKing: Eww, she is more plastic the actual Barbie herself.
@LoveIsAllYouNeed: Zayn could do so much better! I doubt she is even a real blonde
"Nice name," I scoff to myself sarcastically.
@1DEverDayAllDay: Three words, pathetic and ugly
I go back to my mentions not wanting to read anymore about Mandy's and mine pictures. As I read though them, I can't help but cry. They are so hateful, saying how I deserve whatever happened to me, how they hope Zayn and I broke up. Occasionally there will be a few nice ones but it's like the negative ones ruin even the nicest ones.
I finally decide to quite looking at twitter and begin driving to the homeless shelter and soup kitchen. This will cheer me up, it always does. Knowing that I could help people who need it and them be so appreciative, at least most of them.
When I get there, Ruby says I could help with cleaning which I gladly oblige to. I being sweeping the place and afterwards move on to cleaning the dishes.
I am too preoccupied to think of anything else and this is why I love coming here. It is a great distraction. Sure it's not the most luxury thing I could be doing, but I'm fine with it. This is like a hobby to me.
"Hey, darling?" someone says and I turn around. An elderly man who looks beat down stares at me with worried expression.
"Could I help you?" I ask as politely as I could.
"You're the young lady from that magazine," he states.
"Yeah, that's probably me," I let out an awkward laugh.
"Why are you here when you should be at the police station?"
"Police station?" I ask completely confused. "Why would I be at the police station?"
