Eleven

"Wait wait Chan. I know I said I was ready but I think this is too much." Hyunjin whined. Chan and Miyeon announced that they were going to get lunch and everyone except for Hyunjin and Y/n said they were going.

"It's not my fault that they wanted to come." Chan shrugged. "But do you really need all of them to go with you guys?" Hyunjin asks.

"They want to come." Chan said, making the boy sigh. "Hyunjin, this is your opportunity. Just you two, take it." Chan pushed Hyunjin back into the house, making his way to the packed mini-van.

Hyunjin took a deep breath in, "Okay you can do this Hyunjin." He made his way back to the main room to see Y/n just sitting there with her phone in her hand.

She didn't notice him at first so he took this as an opportunity to just admire her. He missed her so much, he noticed that she was even more beautiful.

Y/n felt another presence in the room so she lifted her head towards the boy and smiled. "I guess it's just us two now." She happily said. Hyunjin just nods.

She patted the empty seat next to her, "Come, sit." She said. He was hesitant at first but without much thought he did what she said, leaving some space between them.

"I noticed that we barely got to talk. It's weird, knowing that we actually know each other before we moved here but it seems that I barely know you." Y/n furrowed her eyebrows.

"Well we met two years ago but I went to a different school so the whole first year we didn't talk or met up with each other." Hyunjin said. What he told her was true.

"So what happened to the past year?" She asks.

Hyunjin let out a awkward chuckle as he rubs the back of his neck, "Uh can we talk about something else?" He wasn't ready, he wasn't ready at all he thought.

He needed Miyeon or at least Chan with him to talk about what happened with Y/n.

She nodded, "It's fine. We can talk about something else." Y/n completely forgot what Miyeon just told her this morning so she mentally cursed at herself.

This wasn't how Hyunjin thought this would go. He thought it would be easy to talk to her but it was the total opposite. Not only was he messing it up but he was messing it up for the both of them.

He was supposed to make her remember and have her fall in love with the guy she once did for but instead he's giving her reasons why she shouldn't.

"I'm sorry. I promise I'm not normally like this. I'm just..." He started to trail off. "Nervous?" She finished his sentence.

This felt familiar to Hyunjin and he knew exactly why. "Yeah...nervous." He looks at her, a hint of shine in his eyes.

She chuckles, "Why would you be nervous?"

Hyunjin didn't answer her question and held out his hand for her to take, "Do you mind joining me outside?"

She was a little confused at his sudden suggestion but without further questions, she willingly took his hand. "Sure." She said. Hyunjin let out a small smile as he leads them towards the front door.

One year ago

"Where are you taking me?" Hyunjin chuckles, holding tightly onto Y/n's hand. "Just keep your eyes closed, we're almost there." She said. He can almost hear the huge smile that was on her face.

After a few more steps they made a stop. "Okay. Now you can open your eyes." Hyunjin slowly opened his eyes to be met with- "A picnic?"

Y/n hopped, pulling him towards the blanket with packed food and sliced fruit. "How did you set this up? You were with me the whole day before we came here." He said.

"Miyeon helped me. I actually planned the whole thing." She told him. Blush started to creep up onto Hyunjin's face. "Y-you did all of this just for me?"

"Yeah." She smiled.

"Wait." He felt his heart trying to escape his chest. He clutched his shirt and blushed dramatically. He nervously chuckles, "I'm sorry. I promise I'm not normally like this. I'm just-"

"Nervous?" Y/n finished his sentence. He rubbed the back of his neck, "Yeah."

"It's okay to be nervous on the first date." She teased him. "This is also part of the date? We just came from a movie and the cafe." Hyunjin said, his eyes slightly widened.

She had a sly smile, "A first date with Cho Y/n wouldn't just end that easy." Hyunjin chuckles as he admires the beauty that sits right in front of him.

He places a stray hair behind her ear, brushing his fingers against her cheek. "You are too special. Where have you been all my life?"

Y/n leans against his touch, "It's been months since we've known each other." She says. He stares into her eyes as she does the same. "Then why did this take so long?" He softly asks.

She let out a light chuckle, "Well come to think of it, we waited over a year because we go to different schools."

"So if it wasn't for that party our parents threw months ago, this wouldn't be happening right now." Hyunjin said. Y/n thought about it, "Yeah. If there was no party, WE wouldn't be happening."

Y/n places her hand over Hyunjin's as it was still on her cheek. She slowly leans in, signaling him what's about to happen. She looks at his lips then at his eyes for permission. He does the same, leaning so that his lips was just hovering over hers.

Just as it was about to happen, Y/n smiles and leans back. "How about we save that for the next date?"

Hyunjin snickered, throwing his body onto hers and wrapping his arms around her. He lays them both on the blanket, cuddling each other as they look at the night sky.

Hyunjin brought them out to the front lawn. He signals her to sit down as he does the same, making sure to keep some distance from each other.

Y/n brings her hands together, hanging her arms over her knees. "So what brings us outside?" She asks.

He started to lay down on the soft, green grass. "Lay down." He simply says. "And tell me what you see." Y/n looks at the boy weird but yet again, does what he says anyways.

"Uhhh let's see...a blue sky with blobs of clouds." She shrugs. "Come on, use your imagination. What do you see?" He says.

Y/n smiles, "A rose. I see a rose in the clouds."

"That's nice." He replies. Y/n continues to look at the sky. "What do you see?"

Hyunjin looks at the girl beside him. "Something beautiful."
