Lunch

"Hey Hyunjin I'm sorry I promised but I can't make it to lunch. Y/n and I have this whole orientation thing that we have to go through." Miyeon said then hearing Hyunjin sigh over the phone.

"It's fine. You know where I live so just meet me there after school. I really need to know what's going on. Could you bring Y/n too?" He asks.

Miyeon internally frowned, looking at her sister when Hyunjin said her name. "Okay I got it. But Y/n can't be there. I know it's confusing but trust me, it's for the best." She hung up the phone call and made her way back to Y/n.

"Who was that?" Y/n took a bite of her food, clueless of what's going on. They were sitting at a outside table eating lunch. Okay Miyeon lied to Hyunjin but it was to protect her younger sister. He will soon know why.

She needed a place to talk to Hyunjin without Y/n being around. So she decided to wait for after school to do it.

"Just mom asking if we needed anything from the mall." Miyeon shrugged.

Y/n nodded, obviously buying that white lie. "So after school I will just drop you off at home because I need to take care of something." Miyeon said.

Y/n puts down her sandwich, "Why can't I come? I've been home all summer ever since I got out of the hospital. I want to explore this side of town." She pouted.

"I'm sorry. I'll make it up to you, I'll pick up your favorite bread when I get back." Y/n's pout turned into a huge smile. "I haven't had those in a long time. Okay I'll wait till you get back."

Miyeon chuckles at her sister. "I miss this." Then tears started to build up in her eyes. "You have no idea how much I've cried waiting for you to wake up. Those were the longest three weeks I've ever experienced." Y/n wiped the tears off of Miyeon's face.

Y/n showed her a smile to tell her that everything is okay. "I'm here again now and we can spend all the times we missed together in those three weeks." She reassured her.

Knock. Knock.

"Miyeon. Come on in." Hyunjin led her towards the living room where all the guys were. "Oh don't mind them, they are just worried about me and I also promised them that I would tell them everything."

Miyeon came to just see Hyunjin so of course she was surprised to see seven more guys in front of her. "O-okay." She was a little overwhelmed because she didn't know these other boys.

Hyunjin noticed the awkward tension in the air so he spoke, "So first things first." he started. "Guys this is Cho Miyeon and the other girl was Cho Y/n, her younger sister."

Miyeon greeted the boys as they did the same back then sat on the couch opposite from them.

"You're cute. What year are you in?" Jisung flashed a smile resulting Seungmin to nudge the boy. "What? I'm just making conversation."

"Well I'm a fourth year and Y/n is a second year like Hyunjin." Miyeon smiles back but still feeling a little awkward.

"Nice, you're the same year as me. So you like what you see- Ow!" Now it was Chan's turn to nudge Minho.

She stifled a light chuckle. "Sorry you're not my type. Uh can we get back to why I am here...please." She looked at Hyunjin using her eyes to ask for his help.

"Right." He went to sit next to her. "Something happened to her after the accident, right? Because I was able to be discharged from the hospital in a week while she had to stay longer."

"Wait what accident?" Chan asks. "Y/n was with me, we both got into that car accident." Hyunjin sighs facing the boys, they looked confused. "Okay. I guess I should explain this first."

He took a deep breath in then just let out. "Cho Y/n was...my girlfriend for the past 8 months." He started off.

They were in shock, "How were you able to hide your relationship from us for that long?" Jisung spoke for all the guys.

Hyunjin pursed his lips, "Remember the times I said I was too busy to hang out and when I just left early at times...Also Jisung, she wasn't my cousin."

"I knew it." He exclaimed.

"But why? Why didn't you tell us any of this?" Chan frowns.

"I don't know why. But about a month ago I was driving to take her out on a date..." Tears were forming in Hyunjin's eyes. "A-and we got into an accident putting us both in the hospital. I bruised my ribs and had a concussion so I was able to leave within the week. Y/n, on the other hand, was in worst condition."

"That's why you kept yourself isolated. Because you felt like it was your fault for putting Y/n in the hospital." Chan said with tears in his eyes. Hyunjin just nodded.

Miyeon put her hand on his shoulder, "It wasn't your fault Hyunjin. A drunk driver crashed into you guys. Not your fault at all." She reassured him.

"So what happened to Y/n?" Minho asks.

"Her parents said she didn't want to see me when I got discharged. So that's also why I stayed home a lot, I was trying to contact her." Hyunjin said. Miyeon gulped as she shook her head, "She was in a coma for three weeks."

"She was in a coma?!"

Miyeon nodded. "They told you that because they didn't want you visiting her. Then my mom blocked your number on Y/n's phone."

"Also Hyunjin. W-when she woke up, she lost a year of her memories." She lowered her head, not wanting to look at the now broken down boy in front of her.

"T-that's why she didn't r-recognized me." Hyunjin stood up, his voice quivering.

"Hyunjin."

"All this time I thought she hated me for what happened. But instead look what I have done, I caused her this. She doesn't even remember why she should hate me."

"Hyun-"

"Can you leave...please. I don't want you seeing me like this and Y/n is probably expecting you to come home soon." He covered his mouth, covering his whimpers as he runs towards his room. Making sure to close his door behind him.

She sighs as she stood up. "I'll walk you out." Chan said, following her towards the door.

"Tell him I'm sorry for the news and that none of this is his fault. He really needs to know that. It was nice to meet you guys." Miyeon pursed her lips into a small smile before leaving the house.
