Make sure you respect the animals and stay on trails
I ran through the woods.
"ELO!" shouted Mom, "Wait for me!"
I waited for her.
She ran to keep up.
When she caught up to me, we spotted a pretty butterfly on a leaf a tiny bit off trail.
"Pretty!" Mom said. She walked into the woods, trying to follow the butterfly. She accidently crushed a couple of pretty plants in the process.
I followed her.
Then I spotted something.
A bear.
"Mom!" I shouted, "A bear!"
Mom accidently stepped on the bear's paw.
The bear was not happy.
What do I do if I see a bear in the woods?
The bear is not the point of the story. The point is, is that you shouldn't go off trail. You might walk into another animal's habitat. But, if you're worried about encountering a bear, then here's a video. (Also, bears kill less humans than humans kill humans).
What if I get lost?
Understandable. Everyone gets lost sometimes. Just make sure that you're not purposely going off trail. Also, don't smoke on trail. Smoking is bad for your lungs and it pollutes the air. You might be wondering why I'm mentioning this, because smoking is probably not allowed in national parks. Well, it could be allowed or not allowed, but in either case don't do it. I saw someone smoking in a national park once.
Remember to also follow the park rules and not sit on certain areas that you're not supposed to sit or go on a trail that is closed. It's either dangerous, or the park closed it off to help the earth.
