MASHAWN POV

Friday

When I woke up, Rose wasn't there but she left a note that said:

Mashawn,

I'm sorry about last night, I should of just left it be, but last night I saw a side of you that I never thought I'd see. That anger scared me as well as enticed me and I can't wait to see you again. But sadly, I have to go to LA for a few days so be good without me.

Rose

I read the letter at least 5 times to make sure I had it right and I just kept getting the same cold message. Once again, I was left and everytime it felt even more personal, even if her departure was only for a week.I looked at the time, 10:15 AM. My appointment was supposed to be at noon but I didn't feel like going today, but Marv would throw a bitch fit if I didn't.

TEXT MESSAGE

Mashawn: Aye Marv, you coming by to take to therapy or what?

Marvin: Yeah B, I got you.

I looked at my calender and saw that my agent Nina, had me scheduled to be on ESPN tonight at 6 for an E:60 Special, which I completely forgot about. Besides the games, I've never really been on tv, even after the Super Bowl. I did a couple of commercials for Nike and Subway but nothing where I really had to speak and get interviewed before and I'm not gone lie a nigga was scared. The reminder also said to look presentable and yada yada but I just decided a suit and a lining would be fine. But for therapy, I threw on my weed sweatshirt, loose fitting black jeans, and some Timbs. I picked out my hair some and as soon as I stepped outside, Marv's car pulled up.

"Wassup Shawn, I haven't talked to you in a few days B. How you been?" Marvin asked as he pulled off the street.

"Shit, my past few days been crazy man. I'm just gone be on a break from bitches" I laugh "they gone get me all fucked up."

"What you mean dude? What happened to ole girl who was giving you head on Monday?

"Man last night was crazy! So tell me why this bitch gone come over to fight, we fuck, fight again and then she leaves me this shit." I say throwing the note in Marvin's lap. Marv waited till we got to a stop sign to read it and when he did all he could do was shake his head.

"I'm surprised it took her this long to realize yo ass was crazy." Marvin chuckled as he began driving the car again.

"Nahh it wasn't even me this time! The girl called me a nigga!" I exclaimed and Marvin just shook his head again. I couldn't even get mad at it though, Marv was always the chill dude and he wasn't gone change for nobody especially not no female. "How you and Mikayla doing?" I ask.

Marvin's cheeks started to get red and a smile came across his face, I don't know what kind of voodoo she had on him, but he was whipped for ole girl. "We good, real good actually."

"Come on" I chuckle "it's not just a real good! You always talking bout her and smiling when her name get brought up."'

"You right, so I'm just gone come out and say it, I'm thinking bout making that move." He finally admitted. Now it was my turn to shake my head. Marvin was 22 just like me and he already talking about proposing, he must be out of his damn mind and I'm not afraid to tell him so:

"Nigga what the hell is wrong with you?! You do know you only 22 right?! Nigga you need be worrying about more important things like work, your image, yourself, but marriage? Nahh bruhh you too young to be tripping off this." I critique.

Marvin said nothing but turned up the music that was already blaring in his car and at that moment 2pac's I Ain't Mad At Cha was on. He rapped every verse perfectly and when he sings the hook, I know he's looking at me. I couldn't stand how sensitive the nigga was like since middle school, he just sat there and let people talk crazy to him while he just took it. "Bruhh, I can't wait till the day you stop being a punk!" I yell and as soon as the "p" in punk came out, Marvin no longer could keep it cool and I knew that as soon as he pulled the car over it was gone get bad.
