The night sat with its noises of silence. The wind gently brushing its hands on the tree leaves, sending a few of them down on the ground where the grass waved. A stream nearby kept a constant river of sound, but if listened to along with the night, it would simply become white noise.
The cold night kept all of the Knights (Christian students) In their beds, tucked under the sheets. The spell of Japanese pine mixed in with the cold temperature gave the ambiance of a forest without human life.
The only light was from the full moon. It's white overcast creating dead shadows.
Erwin knew that if the Parrabellm won, every day would be like this.
Cold, dying light, and a gentle wind that would spread across the ashes of charred tanks and bodies.
Pope, Erwin, and her crew all had awaited for the knights partying to settle, and then die off with the scurrying sounds of them going to tents to call it a night.
After an hour of hearing nobody outside, but the occasional knight going out to take a load, they crept their way to the massive tank-like object that was under an equally massive blanket.
As they crept their way in between stacks of crates, and Cromwells, Erwin decided to ask what it was.
Whispering she said, "So, what lies beneath that black curtain".
Pope looked back and whispered equally as quiet "The Tog II LB, you will see once we unveil it"
It sure did look like a Tog II, with its long shape, but it was surprisingly tall.
"You four, grab the back of the blanket, and I will guide it off"
They did as he told them to. Grabbing the blanket that felt old, oil-stained, and crusty. Slowly they pulled and heard every noise of it coming off. A little snag here and there, but the loudest part was it rubbing against the guns.
It finally came off, making a soft landing on the ground.
It was huge.
The body was five times larger than a normal Tog II. Its double tracks carried its double wide body. In the front were two bigger sized Tog II turrets that had triple tank guns, and on the back were two more.
In the hall were four mounted machines and five rotating turrets with tank guns on both sides. Its body paint job was a camouflaged green and brown, but seeing as how big it was and how loud it would be, it did very little besides looking good.
To put the cherry on top of the excellent sundae, there was an anti air craft gun on the top.
It was never designed, it was created by the minds of the wicked Christians.
Erwin laid her hands on it. Feeling the cold, dead steel, and its rough rivets and metal.
(The TOG II LB) (I do not own this image)
"The LB stands for Land Battle Ship as you see"
Slowly, they claimed on, keeping the sounds of their feet to a minimum.
Once at the top, Pope brought out a key and shifted through them.
The opening of a tent was heard.
It caused them to freeze in their tracks like multiple deer in headlights, the driver who could see them would be awed surprised.
The knight stumbled, his back facing towards them. It was apparent he was going to take a load off, and in was in a pretty bad hangover.
Once he had his back turned to them. they hauled head over and heels and got in without a sound.
The inside was cold, dark, and the smell was steril. It was total pitch black, and they knew it judging by how they couldn't even see their hands in front of their faces.
"Umm, so what now?" Caeser asked.
They heard the sound of struggling hands, and a couple of clicks and a light emerged.
Pope was holding a small flashlight in his hand.
Looking with the light, they saw the inside was big enough for a person to stand in, and that everything was colored white, and had Golden Crosses put in stable positions on the walls.
What caught their eyes the most was the chair in the middle.
It had golden rims, and many rubies align the outskirts of its fancy wood. The seat itself had the softest, most expensive fabrics and cushions.
Pope then whispered his instructions "Here is the light Oryou, take it so you can get to the controls and turn the tank on, therefore turning on all the lights in it. But I do must say, this vehicle is not slow for its size, and the controls are a bit bigger, so you will have to stretch your legs out, yet otherwise simple"
He handed her the flashlight, and she went off. Once everything went dark again, he noticed that Erwin was holding him tightly, he couldn't quite comprehend it.
His mind was not accustomed to females hugging him on their behalf. He wasnt allowed to get a girlfriend, and only had limited female interaction. Instead of making him desperate for attention from one, he was scared of it.
"I don't know what this is called, I've never seen it in books or media. You will have to explain it to me" Pope said
Erwin then replied "For all that you have done, both now and the past, this is a hug of safety"
"So you feel safe with me, despite the awful things I have watched"
"It takes commitment to come so far and know what is right. You could've had all the women you waunted, the most expensive cars, exotic foods, and enjoyed all that you had, but you saw what it costed for others. You thought of them, not yourself"
"Oh well... This is kinda like a perspective on me from a third-person point of view"
"I would like for us to spend more time together, and I will show what that means later"
The lights came on, and they would have to move quickly, the entire Christian main force was up.
The massive dual V16 30L Dielsle engines rumbled with their savage sound of an equally big lion roaring.
"All of the guns are loaded! The ammunition is in the middle of the tank! I will be in the commander's spot reporting enemy positions!"
He saw that so many knights were now outside, but not attacking, just watching.
This was his chance, they all watched him, time to let it fly.
He got on the microphone that would project this voice through speakers on the outside of the vehicle. They were intended for propaganda and spreading their demonic message, now it would send his heavenly one.
"Listen to me, the one who can hear from god! But he is no god! He is Satan incarnate! Darkness is all his heart had become, killing he believes is the way, and he has brainwashed all of you! These people he deems prevent peace are not demons or sub-humans at all. They are people who never knew we existed, he kept the entire tankery industry outside of Japan a secret! He lied to you all, about Heaven, and even hell! Killing your way to peace... All it does is make itself repeat until you are the one being killed! So join me! and we will overthrow the Parrabellm, earning a real peace, not from human pain! But form human gain! Take off your helmets if you agree!"
A looked through all of the mirrors and peepholes. Only one knight took off his helmet.
