Chapter 16

"Okay, everything is okay." Astrid mumbled and sighed.

It's been three weeks and tonight was the rehearsal dinner. "Oh my god. Astrid." Ruffnut said and hugged her. "It looks perfect. Thank you." "I didn't do it alone, y'know, but you're welcome." Astrid said and patted her back.

"You're pale." Ruffnut commented. "Yeah, I know. I'll be fine though." Astrid said. "I'm just tired, that's why." "Okay go home. Rest a little the dinner doesn't start anytime soon." Ruffnut said. "But-" "No buts." Ruffnut said and pushed her softly. "I will see you later." Astrid took her bag and got out of the hotel. She then called Tuffnut.

"A!" Tuffnut said through the phone. "Hi." Astrid said and chuckled weakly. "I missed you. You've been AWOL these days." Tuffnut said. "Yeah, I know. I know. You busy now or something? If not, can you come at my house?" Astrid asked. "Gimme fifteen minutes and I'll be there." Tuffnut said. "Okay, see you." Astrid said and hang up.

When she got to her house, in two minutes Tuffnut was there too. "You want ice cream? There is cookies and cream or salted caramel." Astrid said, after checking the fridge. "Salted caramel for me." Tuffnut said.

Astrid took both of the tubs and passed the salted caramel one and a spoon to Tuffnut, then sat next to him at the couch. "How are you and Olivia?" Astrid asked. "We're good. Things are great, actually." Tuffnut said and smiled. Astrid smiled and looked at her ice cream tub. "You okay?" Tuffnut asked and looked at her, concerned. Astrid smiled and nodded, but when Tuffnut kept staring at her, she shook her head as a no and bit her lower lip.

"What is it?" Tuffnut asked and placed his hand on her right knee. "I messed up, really bad." Astrid said. "I dated a guy in sophomore year of college his name is Arne and he came to Berk last week, so we were hanging out a lot in the past week and my stupid ass never told him I was dating. Three days ago, he kissed me and Hiccup was there." Astrid said.

"He isn't talking to me ever since." "Why did you break up with that Arne guy?" Tuffnut asked. "He cheated on me, but managed to break up on good terms." Astrid said. "Talk to Hiccup, tell him." Tuffnut said. "He isn't answering my voicemails, let alone talk to me. I left like a thousand voicemails now, but unless it's about Zephyr, he isn't answering." Astrid said and placed her ice cream tub on the coffee table, not having the appetite to eat from it anymore.

"At least I know he felt when I kept ignoring him after getting pregnant with Zephyr." Astrid said and chuckled dryly. "Karma is a bitch." "Hey, that's not true." Tuffnut said.

"It's just I've never been happy in these six years like now, don't get me wrong if it wasn't for Zephyr, I would've forgotten how to smile, but ever since I came back, I just have been happier." Astrid said. "Everything will be fine, I promise you." Tuffnut said.

"You know you're being awfully optimistic, right." Astrid said and smiled softly. "Don't remind me." Tuffnut said and opened his arms to her. Astrid cuddled into Tuffnut. "Thank you, Tuff. For everything." Astrid said and pressed her lips into his cheek.

"What are best friends for?" Tuffnut said. Astrid pulled away. "I need to put this ice cream in the fridge. Now I know why Zephyr is hyperactive. It has like ninety percent sugar." Astrid said and stood up.

She froze on her ground when she felt dizzy. "Ast..." Tuffnut said. "I just stood up fast." Astrid said and smiled. She took took the tub of ice cream to the kitchen and putted it in the fridge.

"You wanna come with to pick Zephyr up from school?" Astrid asked. "Oh, yes. I miss my favorite niece." Tuffnut said, making Astrid chuckle slightly.

"I'm driving though." Tuffnut said. "Okay. Okay." Astrid said. "You're not busy though, right?" "Why'd I be busy?" Tuffnut asked. "Umm, I don't know. Isn't tonight your twin sister's rehearsal dinner?" Astrid asked and rolled her eyes. "Yeah, but it doesn't start till evening, so it's fine." Tuffnut said.
