Chpater 23

AVANI POV:
Me and Amelie went to the Eiffel yesterday (Wednesday) and gondola riding. Earlier today we did some light shopping and I got a cute present for Anthony.

"Who else is going to the dinner." I asked Amelie as I got ready.
"Everyones going but I made reservations at a different restaurant." Amelie told me. I put my make up brush's down and hugged her. I still couldn't bare to look at Payton without bursting into tears. So Amelie going out of her way to make sure I didn't have to be in the same restaurant as him meant so much to me.
"I love you." I said starting to cry a little.
"Avani I love you to. Please don't cry your gonna make me cry."
"Can we make a promise. That no matter where life takes us we will always be best friends." I said.
"Yes you will always be my besti." Amelie said. I pulled away from the hug and we both laughed softly.

We finished doing our makeup and putting on our accessories.
"Dang we look good!" Amelie said making me laugh. We walked down to our Uber who took us to the restaurant. We got their and I was stunned at how expensive the place looked.
"Amelie how much did this cost?" I asked her.
"Don't worry about it just enjoy it." She said suspiciously.
"Hello madams, welcome to Pierre Gagnaire." One of the hosts said greeting us.
"We have a reservation for Amelie." Amelie told the host.
"Follow me please." He told us. As we walked by the table I saw men with suits and women with extremely expensive looking diamond jewelry.

"Hello my name is Katī and I will be your server for today." Our waitress told us. We ordered lemonade and studied the menu to see what we would get.
"I don't know what any of this means." Amelie whispered to me.
"D-do you think we are allowed to laugh." I asked her holding in my laugh.
"We'd probably have to laugh like ah ah ah." Amelie said doing a fancy laugh.

"Are you two ready to order." Katī asked us when she came back with our drinks.
"Yes can I get the..." we both ordered struggling to tell her what we wanted. When she brought us our food we looked at each other confused.
"Avani what is this." Amelie said trying to suppres her laugh. The food looked amazing but it also looked like it wouldn't satisfy a baby. We ate our food and talked. We had a good time but weren't at all full.

"Is their a pizzeria nearby." I asked our Uber driver once we left the restaurant.
"Ahh yes I will bring you to the best one." He said in a classic French accent. We got to the pizzeria and it looked cozy and warm.
"One cheese pizza please." We told our server. We felt a lot more comfortable there and had an even better time since we were able to talk and laugh more freely. The teenage server even joined into our conversation when he severed us our pizza.
"Thanks I'm Amelie." She said thanking him for the pizza and for the complement he gave us.
"You are?" He asked looking at me.
"Avani." I told him. He smiled at me then walked away.
"He's cute I would try and go after him if I wasn't so
hungry." Amelie said. I laughed at her stupidly and ate the pizza.
"Ciao." The guy said cutely as we walked out. Amelie giggled and I kept walking.

"Let's just walk a little before calling our Uber." I suggested.
"Okay." She said happily. We talked and tried looking for shapes in the stars. We got to a bridge and stayed there for a few minutes admiring the crystalline water and the fine details of the bridge. Everything in France had so much detail it was astonishing how beautiful everything was.

When we got cat called we decided to call our Uber even though we wanted to keep walking we didn't feel safe since it was night time.
"Thank you have a good day." I told our driver before I got out of the car.

"That was the best date Ive ever been on thank you." I joked.
"Are we about to kiss." Amelie joked back. We both busted out laughing. We walked to our room joking with each other the whole time.
"Ima take a shower." I told her. Once I was done in the bathroom she took a shower. While she was taking a shower I put on my pajamas and called Anthony. I called him agin and agin but he wouldn't pick up. I didn't care that much until a wave of anxiety hit me. I started thinking of everything else he was probably doing most of my thoughts being that he was cheating on me. I curled up in a little ball and tried thinking of when I would cuddle with Anthony and feel safe.

"Avani can you go order some chips or candy?" Amelie asked.
"Sure." I said. I picked up the rooms phone and dialed one of the numbers they had on a piece of paper.
"It's not working!" I told Amelie.
"Let me see." She said. She walked out of the bathroom and tried calling room service.
"I'll just go to the lobby." I said getting up.
"Okay." She said.

I got on the elevator and Charli was on it.
"Hey bae!" She said excitedly. We were both going down so we talked while on the elevator.
"Hey!" She greeted Payton when he entered. I wanted to run out of the elevator but I knew I couldn't or Charli would be suspicious and ask questions.
"Hey Vani." Payton said.
"Hello." I said bearly audible. We all talked but I directed most of what I said to Charli.
"Bye I'll text you later." Charli told me when she got off of the elevator.

"Avani I just wanted to say I'm sorry." Payton said once the doors closed. I nodded my head and scooted away from him.
"Avani I know what I did was wrong. I wasn't in the right place mentally and I took it out on you I really am sorry you don't have to believe more or forgive me." He said sounding genuine.
"W-w-what do you mean you weren't in the right place mentally?" I asked.
"I was bi-polar it was just undiagnosed. I still suffer from it I'm just taking meds now so it's not so bad." He explained.
"S-still it doesn't m-make up for what y-y-you did." I stuttered over my words because I was afraid he might do something to me.
"I know nothing would ever excuse what I did to you." He said.

He was about to say something else when we got to the lobby and the door opened. I walked out and explained to the woman that our phone might be broken. She helped me with everything and was very nice, but she asked me, "Are you okay?"
"Yes I'm fine thank you." I responded. She probably asked because of how shaky my voice was. Payton was sitting in the lobby until I started walking back to the elevator. He went up to me and asked me if we could take a walk outside. I shook my head and continued walking to the elevator. He followed me but didn't say anything until we got on the elevator.

"Look Avani I know our relationship had its flaws but do you remember all the fun we had when we were dating? We had so much fun and we loved each other so much. Don't you want that agin?" He asked.
"No!" I said without hesitation.
"Why I'm better now. I won't force you into anything. I'll never lay an unwanted had on you. Please we could be together again. Happy again." He pleaded.
"First of all, I am the happiest I've ever been with Anthony. Second yeah we had fun but it didn't last long because at the end of the day you would end up abusing me physically, verbally, sexually, or mentally. I don't know how you managed to abuse me in every single form possible but congrats you did it." I affirmed.
"Please Avani I need you. It broke me when we broke up."
"You don't think it broke me. Every day we were together it broke me. I loved you so much and that's why I stayed with you. I thought you would change eventually and the abuse would stop but it never did. You can't talk about being broken because you broke me in ways I never thought would be possible!"
"Avani I love you I need you."
"You always do this, you beg until you get what you want! You make the other person feel bad and you try and make yourself the victim! So just take no for an answer!" I said standing up for myself. He was about to say something when he was agin cut off by the elevator doors opening. I walked out and flipped him off before the doors closed agin. It felt good to finally stand up for myself and not just cry.
