Chapter 5 - The Dullahan

I had woken up minutes prior and had gotten dressed into my proper gear. I walk downstairs to be met with most of the party in the lounge room, except Usumi, Aqua and Darkness.

"Good morning guys. Anything planned for today?"

Kazuma: "Morning. And not really. Aqua will be leaving soon to pay off a debt at her job, Darkness will be leaving for a couple days to go back home and visit her family, Usumi is studying spells in her room and I'll be going into town soon to go check out a shop I've had my eyes on."

"I see. What about you two?"

'You two' being Megumin and YunYun.

Megumin: "Well I WAS planning on going to fulfil my daily explosion but Kazuma, who usually carries me home doesn't want to today!"

"Why must you use your explosion spell a day?"

Megumin: "If I don't, I'll DIE!"

Don't think that's the case. There were multiple days you didn't use your spell.

"...Uh huuuuh. Well I could accompany you today if you want?"

Megumin: "Really?!"

"Sure! Got nothing to do today. What about you YunYun, want to come?"

YunYun: "I'll pass. Usumi will be teaching me some spells soon~!"

"Oh? Well have fun with that."

Aqua rushed downstairs in her usual outfit and holding a maid outfit, the one she wears for her job.

Aqua: "Hi guys! Bye guys!"

And like that, she was gone. Shortly after, Darkness walked down holding a suitcase.

Darkness: "Ah (Y/N), you're awake. If you weren't told, I'm going home for a week to visit my family."

"I heard. Kazuma told me. Have fun!"

Darkness: "I will! Goodbye guys."

We said our farewells as she left. Usumi called out from upstairs.

Usumi: "YunYun! I'm ready."

YunYun: "Okay! Be up in a moment! I'll see you guys later."

YunYun quickly got up and rushed upstairs.

"Seems like we've all got plans today."

Kazuma: "Seems so."

Megumin: "Let's go now (Y/N)!"

"Oh, alright. We'll see you later Kazuma."

Kazuma: "Yup."

Megumin and I left the house.

"Want to teleport or walk there?"

Megumin: "We'll walk."

I nod. The two of us follow the path to Axel, entering the gates and making our way to the Northern gate on the opposite side of the town. We leave the city walls.

"So how far out are we going?"

Megumin: "We'll go out further. Last time I used my spell close to the town I got in trouble."

"Well aren't you smart?"

She didn't respond. We kept walking until we saw what looked like an old castle resting atop a hill opposite to us.

Megumin: "Hm? I haven't seen that before."

"I have."

Megumin: "Really? Is it abandoned?"
