He was worn out and filing some documents when the abhorrent news came to him.

"Are you sure that's the real cause?" Erwin said as he continues to file the documents

"Yes, sir. It is the scenario that has the highest rate of possibility" Nanaba said

"I see..." Erwin said as he sighs
"Go ahead and tell Everyone about this except for his parents, I'll tell them myself. Also, Nanaba, I know that you deserve his position." Erwin said

"Y-yes sir. Captain Mike has always told me to get ready for this day. I'll accomplish the tasks that you've given me as soon as possible." Nanaba said, aghast from the sudden rank up of hers.
Nanaba started walking towards the door after their short conversation and announced his death along with other people who died. Y/N, who was eating with Sasha and Connie heard this and her eyes widened with sadness and tears. Connie and Sasha understood what she felt because ever since her relationship with Commander Smith, she became close to his peers and him, to her peers. Connie and Sasha looked at her and nodded. It is a queue for her and she knew what she had to do and rushed to her beloved, Erwin Smith.

"E-erwin!" Y/N said as she tries to stabilize her breathing

"Hmm? Yes, what is it?"
Erwin said as he was signing some papers.

"Commander, I heard the news about Captain Mike Zacharias' death." Y/N said as she salutes to the Commander or rather may I say, Her commander.

"Yes, I have already received the news earlier"

Silence encapsulated the room for Y/N knew that Erwin is trying to suppress his emotions so he wouldn't breakdown, for the moment.

"O-ok, If - If you need anything from me, I'm right here Commander." Y/N said as she tries to lift up his mood

"I know, thank you. Maybe we can talk about this at my room, tonight?" Erwin said in a low voice

"Of course, Commander."
You said

"Thank you. If that's all, you may now go." Erwin said

A few hours have passed since your conversation with Commander Smith and it was now time to head to the bathroom then hit the sack. After Y/N made the necessary preparations, she headed to Erwin's room which was connected to his office. She managed to slip to his room and only Levi noticed her doing this. She talked her way out of it and Levi knows that no matter how strong Erwin is, he still needs Y/N to talk to. Erwin became stronger when the two of you started your relationship anyways. You are and would always be Erwin Smith's stronghold. Erwin was dressing himself up when a knock came to his door.

"Y/N, is that you?"
Erwin asked through the bedroom

"Yes, Commander."
You replied

"Come in"

You walked in to his room while he's still buttoning up his shirt which was quiet revealing because it's emphasizing his muscles. He goes to his bed and lies down, his back facing you and you took this as a clue to head to his bed too. You tried hard to spoon him but you knew that it's impossible because of his physique so he turned his body and hugged you.

"Y/N chan, thank you."

"For what, Commander?"

"This." He said while scooting in closer to you.

"Welcome, Love you"

"Y/N, you know, I already told you to drop the formalities." He said in a low voice

"R-right. Sorry Er-Erwin."

"Hmm HAHA, you're cute."
He complimented

"Eh-? Thanks"

"Y/N, what would you do If I die?" He said in a low voice, yet again

"I... Why are you asking that?"
Y/N said, her mouth, agape because of his words.

"Nothing Y/N. I just want to know."

"Hmm? Okay, I think I'll... Mourn over your death and wear all of your clothing until your scent wears off." At this moment, Erwin started tearing up

"And then, I'll try rising up to the ranks and be the commander. Next, I'll carry out your dream so that someday, If someone falls in love the way we did, they wouldn't end up experiencing losses like this." You continued

"W-wow. Thank you" when those words left his mouth his suppressed tears finally came down and hugged you even tighter.

"Of course baby, I love you" you said as he continued muffling his cries

"I love you too baby" he said, crying his tears out and telling you that he'll love you until the very end.

~Morning~

"Mmhmm, don't get up yet Y/N." He moaned

"Erwin kun, I'll be late and Levi will scold me"

"Trust me, he wouldn't. Is today your cleaning day?"

"Yes, so pleaseee wake up now, you're heavy."

"Alright, mhmm, love you."

"Bye bye baby"

"Byeeee."

When you were heading towards the door, he hugged you from behind and said "thank you for last night"
