Chapter 14

"Morning," Kevin said stretching walking into the common room seeing Jayden sitting there eating breakfast still looking just as drained as he was yesterday.

"Morning," Jayden bluntly replied not having the energy to speak. Jayden could have easily slept for the whole day but he knew he needed to focus, they were already 2 rangers down and Jayden didn't want to see anything happen to Mia or Kevin. Jayden felt bad he hadn't even gone to see Mike or Emily yet. He did sleep all of yesterday but he felt responsible for what happened to them.

"I'm just grabbing coffee, going to see if Mike or Emily want one. Would you?" Kevin asked as Jayden shook his head staying silent. Kevin decided not to ask anymore questions, Jayden obviously wasn't in the mood for talking and that was out of character for him.

Kevin left the room, he was already worried about telling Jayden and mentor about him and Mia as it was.

Kevin walked through to Mike and Emily's room and saw Emily was asleep and Mike was awake staring into space.

"Morning," he said walking in as Mike snapped out of his day dream jumping.

"Oh morning dude, how's it going?" Mike grinned raising an eyebrow as Kevin stopped him straight away.

"Stop with those faces and things. Somethings happening. Both mentor and Jayden are acting strange I don't know if it's stress or what but I don't want to cause anymore problems," Kevin whispered hoping no one heard him as Mike nodded getting the hint seeing Kevin's frustration.

"I'm sure they will be okay, you need to chill," Mike said, he knew that Emily didn't sleep well last night and he didn't want her to get woken up If Kevin got too loud.

"How did you sleep?" Kevin asked Mike deciding the better option would be to change the subject.

"On and off, I dunno I think Emily's saying her injuries aren't as bad as they really are. I think mentor needs to give her another check over," Mike whispered paranoid about anything happening to Emily.

While being stuck bored he had nothing to really do and he couldn't help but look over to Emily's bed every once in a while and her facial expression looked like she was in agony and Mike couldn't handle it and he was going crazy.

"What's over you Mike? I think Emily would say If something else was sore that isn't already. What you guys went through will have traumatised you. That's why you'll be so worried. She will be fine Just like you, I feel like there's something going on here. Your never like this.." Kevin asked as Mike broke eye contact and glared at the ground.

"I just have these feelings,"Mike said.

"Romantic feelings?"

"I don't know. I don't know, I just know we have this bond that is like a rock and I can't live without her," Mike said feeling foolish, be never lived opening up, especially to another man.

"I understand what you mean, I know our situations are a bit different but I think when your a ranger you get this connection so much quicker, and it's wake up calls like this that bring these feelings forward,"Kevin explained as Mike looked up at him and agreed.

"Anyway enough of this deep chats, let's talk about manly stuff,"Mike said deepening is voice as Kevin started doing the same.

"Cars."

"Carrots."

They both shouted at the same time as Mike turned round to Kevin shocked.

"Dude, did you just say carrots?" Mike asked Kevin as Kevin smiled.

"I've been reading this really interesting books all about them, you won't believe the history in carrots. You know how my samurai diet is, I need to know about what I'm reading and it may shock you that they are interesting," Kevin grinned as Mike looked at him disgusted.
