Fiddling with his fingers was V who was standing beside Hyojoo as she stood rooted to the ground, admiring the amusement park with shining eyes. However, something was off. He thought he'd feel a sense of euphoria after seeing her elated but all he could think off was Bom.
He looked at Hyojoo, her shimmering chocolate eyes seemed to not shine as bright as Bom's hazel ones, her scarlet cheeks were not as red as Bom's vermillion ones, her hair that swayed in the wind was not as light and feather-like as Bom's. His heart felt nothing but emptiness.
Everytime he took a glance at Hyojoo, the image of Bom appeared in his mind. Weirdly enough, when Bom appeared in his mind, his heart felt alive and his face lit up. A huge smile spread across his face as he felt a little bit lightheaded. She looked so beautiful. However, the sight of Hyojoo appeared in front of him yet again and his smile faded.
"V! Look! It's the carousel! Let's go there!"
Hyojoo exclaimed excitedly, grabbing his hand and dragging him towards the carousel. V just let out a sigh and hesitantly dragged his feet towards the carousel.
"I'll wait for you,"
He muttered, not even looking at Hyojoo in the face. Hyojoo, not really noticing his lack of enthusiasm, nodded vigorously and went to queue. V just stood in front of the carousel, watching Hyojoo as she sat on one of the horses, waving at him every time she went past him. V just gave her a forced smile.
"She would never go for the carousel,"
V muttered, kicking a few small rocks on the floor as he thought about how he protected Bom when they rode the water ride. Before he knew it, he lifted his head to see Hyojoo waving to him yet again.
However, the person he was looking at was not Hyojoo but Bom. Her tawny coloured hair was fluttering in the air softly, the same childish glint was shining in her eyes as a huge smile was on her face. Her eyes crinkled into crescent shapes, barely visibly as she let out a laugh.
V immediately smiled and waved back. She looked ethereal in his eyes. Her beautiful hazel brown eyes, amaranth red lips and vermillion cheeks glowed. However, Bom disappeared and in front of him was Hyojoo yet again. V's smile was gone yet again. He muttered,
"I can't feel anything when I'm suppose to."
