(Start Up! A Korean Drama and Netflix. I'm watching it right now and I'm obsessed. It's so good. But I have low standards cause this is my first K Drama.)
Wednesday
Percy's POV
I ring the bell in front of Annabeth's house. I hear someone yell inside the house. I shrug and turn around mentally going over the date in my head. Everything has to be perfect.
"Hey. Percy." I whip around. But instead of seeing Annabeth I see a very stressed out Piper.
I smile, "Hey! Are you alright?"
"No." She grumbles. "ANNABETH GET DOWN HERE RIGHT NOW!!!" Piper shouts making a few neighbors look out their windows.
We wait for a bit. Then I hear someone walking toward the door. She walks up to me.
"Annabeth...you look...wow." I stutter. To be completely honest my mouth is wide open.
"You look great too Percy." She answers then smiles. Her hand comes up to my face. She closes my mouth. "You were drooling."
I blush. Then I hold my arm out and she takes it. We walk to the car. "Milady." I say while bowing.
She blushes and gets into the car. I race around and get inside the drivers seat. She waves to Piper as we pull out.
"So where are we going?" She asks curiously.
"You'll see." I say.
She pouts in her seat for a bit. I turn on the radio to loosen the tension.Dynamite by BTS starts to play. Annabeth sings along. She has a good voice.
I start to sing along. She laughs at me. She has a nice laugh. Wait. What! No don't say that Percy it makes you sound like a creep.
Once the song ended I pulled into a parking spot. "Okay. We're here!" I say happily.
"Yay!" Annabeth claps her hands.
We get out of the car, me being the gentleman, I open the car door for her. I take her hand and we start walking.
We walk into a forest. Trees surrounding us. A small trail leads deeper into the forest. Wildflowers lay in between the trees. The sunlight streams through the leaves. I sigh in peace.
"Percy where are we going?" Annabeth says holding my hand tighter. Her eyes holding fear.
"You'll see." I say smirking.
After a few more seconds we see a cute gazebo. Flowers are wound around the sides. Fairy lights hang from the ceiling. A small picnic is set up inside.
Annabeth gasps. "Percy...What is this place?"
"Do you like it?" I say nervously.
"Yes!" She smiles and races up to the gazebo. "How did you find this place?"
"My mom and I used to come here all the time. According to my mom this is where my dad proposed to her." I sigh sadly. "It's a special place to me."
"It's beautiful." She responds full heartedly looking me in my eyes.
We stare for a bit.
"Let's eat!" I say quickly. We both turn red and look away.
I pull out chicken salad sandwiches out of the basket. I hand Annabeth one. "What would you like to drink?"
We feast on chicken salad sandwiches, coke, and blue cookies.
When we are finished we step out of the gazebo and lay down. We stare at the blue sky. A few clouds are scattered around.
"Percy?" Annabeth asks softly.
"Hm." I respond.
"Why me?" She asks propping herself up.
"What do you mean?" I ask needed clarification.
"Why did you choose me out of all the other girls?" I nod in understanding.
After a moment I say, "Well I chose you because you aren't self absorbed, you don't wear tiny bits of clothing, you don't cake your face in makeup." I pause. "You are different. I like different." I finish losing myself in my thoughts.
Annabeth moves closer to me. We lay like that for a bit.
I check the time and panic a bit. "Come on!" I say hurriedly getting up.
She looks at me confused. "I have one last thing planned." I explain.
She smiles. "Okay. Should we clean up?"
"Yeah we probably should."
After we tidy up we head to the car. I load everything into the trunk and jump into the car.
I start driving. The whole drive we sit in a comfortable silence.
...
I take her hand and we walk to the pier. We sit at the end and watch the sun set. She curls up into my side. I wrap an arm around her feeling sparks everywhere we touch.
I look down at her and really take in her appearance.
A navy green dress...
Vans...
Makeup. But not too much...
And...
My letterman jacket.
I smile at the memory.
What is this girl doing to me?
