Emily's POV:
𝙽𝚘𝚟𝚎𝚖𝚋𝚎𝚛 𝟷𝟻, 𝟸𝟶𝟶𝟼Today was my first day at the BAU. I'm feeling every sort of emotion, but I'm mainly feeling nervousness. Who could blame me though right? First days are always hard. Well let's just get through today and then we'll see what tomorrow is like!
BEEP BEEP BEEP
I hopped out of bed eagerly as the sound of my alarm clock went off. I went into the bathroom, I was in no particular rush. I set my alarm clock for an hour and a half early so I could be super prepared.
I finished my shower making sure to clean every inch of my body, and also to shave.
I did my morning skin care routine before brushing my teeth and then going to pick out my outfit.I decided on a nice tight fitting, yet appropriate pencil skirt, along with a white long sleeve button up underneath a black blazer. I applied a light amount of makeup, before putting on my new heels that I got recently.
I went out into the leaving room making sure I had everything I needed including my go bag. I gave Sergio some food and water, then gave him some goodbye pets before leaving my apartment.
I'm not a morning person so I don't function very well without coffee so I decided upon stopping by my favorite little coffeehouse on the way into work. It was only 5 minutes away luckily.
I got a coffee and banana nut muffin to go and left the café.I tried to drown out my nervousness with the coffee that I frequently sipped on whilst driving. I had finished my muffin just before pulling into the parking garage of the BAU.
I mentally prepared myself in mirror of my sun visor in my car preparing what I was going to say.Once I thought I was ready, I opened my car door grabbing all my things and heading into the office. I was greeted when I first walked in a woman at the front desk taking my picture, before handing me my identification badge.
I walked over to the elevators pressing the button for the 6th floor, when a woman came charging at the elevator shouting "hold it".
"Thanks." She blonde haired female said.
"No problem." I said back with a smile.
And then I realized it the women that had just stepped onto this elevator with me was Jennifer Jareau, the women that I would be on a team with. God she's so perfect.
"Hi I'm Jennifer Jareau but please call me JJ." She said extending her hand.
"Hi I'm Emily...Emily Prentiss." I said shaking it.
"Oh you're the replacement for Elle?" She asked.
"Yep that's me." I said with an awkward smile.
"Well hey just a tip of advice don't let anyone on the team get to you they just really miss Elle, her leaving was hard on all of us especially Spencer." She said.
"Thanks for the heads up." I said as the elevator doors opened.
"See you later Emily." She said.
"You too! Oh you wouldn't happen to know where Aaron Hotchner's office is would you?" I asked.
"Yea for sure. Follow me." She said guiding me through a room with agents sitting at desks.
"This is his office right here and if you ever need anything my office is right next to his." She gave me a smile and then walked away.
I knocked on his door and entered upon hearing a "come in".
"Ahh Agent Prentiss lovely to see you." He said taking my hand in his own.
"Lovely to be here but please call me Emily." I said back.
"Okay well you're desk is right over there." He said pointing to an empty desk. "If you need anything please don't hesitate to ask." He said.
"Thank you." I said before turning to walk out.
"I'll gather the rest of the team in the conference room so you can all meet them." He said as I walked out. I just shot him a smile before walking to the vacant desk.
I sat down at my desk and started to get everything in order when I heard Hotch call the team into the conference room.
"Everyone I would like you to meet the newest members on this team, Emily Prentiss. Emily this is SSAs' David Rossi, Derek Morgan, Dr. Spencer Reid, our technical analyst Penelope Garcia, and our communication Liaison Jennifer Jareau." He finished.
I went around shaking everyone's hand. Things seemed to be going quite well so far.
"Is that all Hotch?" Spencer asked.
"Yes you are dismissed." Hotch started.
"Actually hate to ruin your fun paperwork day...but we have a case." Garcia said.
JJ stood up in front of us after handing us the files telling us about our case. I can't believe it my first case and it's only my first day here!
"Okay in Albany, New York 4 women all between the ages of 18 to 25 have been murdered. Our first victim Lola Plumber 19. Second victim, Veronica Twine 23. Third victim Lucille Evans 18, and our latest victim Beth Huff 25. They were all nailed to trees in local parks." She finished.
Garcia flinched as the images flooded the screen, I could tell she tried to be a very positive person to try and forget about all the horrors and negative things she must see everyday.
"Okay wheels up in 30." Hotch said closing his file and going to his office.
"Hey Em come here." JJ said I blushed at the nickname.
"Yea what's up?" I asked walking over to her.
I walked over to her our eyes locking. I seemed to get lost in her eyes there was no escaping the trance she put on me, before I knew it I grabbed her face and smashed our lips together. She didn't pull back.
"Em? Em. EMILY!" JJ said pulling me out of my day dream.
"I'm sorry what?" I asked confused.
"I said you have crumbs in your hair." She said giggling, pointing to the remaining banana nut muffin I had in my hair.
"Oh thanks." I said smiling as I brushed them out.
This job is going to be a lot tougher than I thought.
