There's going to be a couple of parts of this chapter...I did a lot of writing to make it up to everyone.
"Fuck you."
By, Lucky Green.Gavin’s POV
The voice from over the phone calls out from in the living room entrance way, followed by a man clothed in a robe and slippers with his hair styled in a manbun. No similarities. No similarities to the boy I used to know. In fact, I would have denied he was my brother period if I hadn’t followed up on his public movement. He approached me, arms wide as if he expected a hug. I shut him down by crossing my arms, unable to stop the snarl that came naturally around people such as him.“Aw, why so bitter? I thought you of all people would be happy to see me,” he grinned. “I’m sorry about the wait, I was dealing with other matters. I hope you weren’t planning on leaving.”
“Still too busy to see me,” I have to mumble underneath my breath.
Elijah looks at me, seeming to determine something inside that oh so brilliant mind of his. He then turns to Nines as if not hearing me at all and slyly smiles again. “Rk900, one of my finest creations you seem to have brought with you. Conan, I must ask, how are you?”
Nines opens his mouth to speak which I beat him to. “Hold up, Conan?” I gaze up at him. “You said your name was Nines!”
“I don’t recall saying as such. I remember saying I’m frequently CALLED Nines, not that it is my name.”“Ah yes, the trickery of names. You see, when I first created Rk900, figuring out a name for him was one of the most terrible headaches I gave myself,” Elijah expresses, slightly wandering away from us in thought. “So many to choose from but only a few that fit. I thought of Richard because of his model but honestly does he look like a Richard to you?” I sneak a glance at Nines, er, Conan or both who seems to be focused on his creator’s babble. No, I guess not. “...not to mention,” Elijah goes on. He picks up a nicely curved glass award to examine it. “Some arrogant fool could shorten it to…” He looks over his shoulder, locking eyes with me. “Dick.” He faces forward again and I snicker at the nickname. I would have a lot of fun with that name. “It wouldn’t make sense either, considering his predecessor’s name is Connor despite his almost identical model number. Conan is just an updated Connor so I was tempted to call them both Connor but that would only make things confusing. So I finally decided on the name Conan as it is very similar to Connor but not quite. They also-”
“Ok, ok,” I interrupt, done hearing about Nines’s/Conan’s/whoever’s name. I’m a bit surprised I even let him carry on that long. “Can we just do what I came here for?”
Elijah sets the award down, wandering back over to us. “Of course. An explanation is bound to ease the bitterness you hold against me. I also apologize for interrupting your, ‘dick appointment’ over the phone.” I didn’t have to look into a mirror to know my face was flushed red. I could feel the heat rising in different locations on my face and spreading to the rest of my body. Elijah grinned at my reaction before putting on an innocent expression and turning to Nines/Conan. “I’m curious however, were you ‘doing it’ with one of my very own creations? I did happen to add a few features just for you~”
“That’s none of your phcking business!” I snap. I was becoming fed up with his, “I know everything,” douchebag attitude. “Are we going to talk or not because I have shit to do!”
“Of course, of course. See how you too also have things to be doing? Now you understand how I feel.” I roll my eyes and pull my scarf tighter around my neck. “I was simply just curious in a fatherly way. I’m almost like they’re father.”
