I'm so excited for all the parts of Chapter Nines. Stuff gets good. Any problems, blame Grammarly. If you haven't guessed already, I hate it but still use it😏.

Gavin’s POV
I watch from behind the 2-way mirror as Nines sits in the interrogation from with the suspect. So far he was doing fine, Mr. Ancher muttering his answers in quick responses. In the room with me were a few other officers, including Hank and Connor. They watched intently while I would glance at the scene every once in a while before scanning the room lazily. It was getting more cold as we went farther into December. Thankfully I met Conan after Thanksgiving because it was going to be difficult to stop him from wondering why I wasn’t going to visit family. Unfortunately, Christmas was coming and I knew he was going to say something about it. I could only tell him to shut up for so long.

    “You're lying!”

A bang and sudden shout from Nines made everyone jump. The android was now standing up in his seat, his fist on the table in front of him and his body leaning over the table toward Mr. Anchor. His LED was spinning yellow and a scowl was placed on his face. Mr. Anchor looked like he was about to shit himself; however, he quickly fixed his face. Now that I looked at him better, he was pretty creepy looking. I know I wasn’t the prettiest person in the world but he took the icing off the cake. He no longer looked like the nervous, quiet teacher that we met back at the school.

“Where’s the android?” Nines hissed. Mr. Anchor’s face turned into panic, and he coughed, changing his expression to a blank one. “The android that works with you in the classroom, where is it?”

Mr. Anchor didn’t answer, crossing his arms over his chest and noticeably tensing up. He glared at Nines for a few seconds before his eyes wandered to the wall on his right.

“No answer?” Nines says in a slightly amused tone, straightening up. “How come? You were answering the questions just fine before.” Mr. Anchor continued to stay silent. Nines made a full circle around him, stopping by his seat before taking a few steps toward the interrogation door. “Ok. We’ll stop at your house. I’m sure you live with it.”

I could tell Nines was bluffing as we didn’t have a warrant or anything but he was rather smooth with it, and it did get a reaction out of Mr. Anchor. He jumped up, his cuff chains clanking as he did.

"No! You can't! You don't even have a warrant. You can't fucking do that!"

Nines stops in front of the door. He looks over his shoulder and smiles. A smile that makes everyone behind the mirror shiver besides Connor, who turns away.

"No...but your reaction just gave me one."

Mr. Anchor's face falls and he starts screaming as Nines steps out the room. I shove past the few officers who rush to the interrogation room, walking over to Nines, who stood against the wall. His eyes dart to me as I approach and his furrowed, pinched expression relaxes into his normal one.

“Hello Gavin,” he says smoothly, his LED spinning to a soft blue.

“Nice going tin-can, now we have a lead,” I beamed, looking over my shoulder and inside the interrogation room. Through the doorway, I could see the officers settling Mr. Anchor before they could take his handcuffs off and put him in a holding cell. “That prick is hiding something in his house. It could be the android…” I look back at Nines. “Or the victim.”

Nines nods, seeming to considerate it in that robotic mind of his. “That’s a possibility, yes. With that possibility in mind, it would seem like an urgent matter to go and retrieve the girl now.”
