I rushed up the Astronomy Tower and assumed that it was the top floor where we would meet and I was right. It was beautiful at night, the stars shining so brightly and the moon so full. I looked at the empty level of the tower and spotted Draco along the edges of the balcony. He was looking up at the stars as well. Oh how pretty he looked under the moonlight. His blond hair reflected the light from the moon and his eyes were shining. I felt like running to him and just start... snogging him. No, he didn't feel that way about me as I did feel about him. It was just so un-Draco if he did.
"Hey." This time, he greets me first. He looked to me in the moonlight and I could have melted in front of him.
"Hey. So, you need help with your spells?" I asked him standing beside him. It was so romantic here and I was so disappointed at our pathetic situation of tuition.
"Yeah, um... I needed help with charms, defense against the dark arts and transfiguration," he told me. His voice was so smooth and so velvety. Oh my gosh, I can't handle it.
I gulpped and I started the tutoring session. "Okay, so it's pretty much everything, right? So we'll start with charms?" I avoided his gaze. "Now, we'll go through the Glacius charm." I cast a small flame on the ground.
"Now, I'll show you. Look carefully," I took a step towards the flame, swished then flicked my wand and said, "Glacius! See? it's not that hard. Try it. Remember it's swish then flick and then say the incantation." I cast another flame on the ground.
"Okay... um," Draco whips out his wand, flicked then swished it then said the incantation.
"No, no. It's swish and flick! Not flick and swish, which was what you did just now," I told him calmly. The flame illuminated his face and he looked so cute. His face had this worried expression on his face. "Try again, Malfoy."
He made the same mistake again. "Um... how about I help you with this?" I placed my hand over his and it was a huge mistake. My heart was pounding so fast butterflies were fluttering about my stomach. I could feel my face burning up. Focus, Rachel, focus! This isn't a making out session with Malfoy. It was a damn lesson! When I regained my composure, I swished and flicked his hand and he said the incantation voluntarily and the flame extinguished.
"Wow, thanks! Let me try it again," Draco asked me. I released my hand from his and cast another flame on the ground.
"Glacius!" Draco says the incantation and the flame extinguished. He grinned at his accomplishment and so did I. I guess I was an effective teacher.
"Well done! Now let's go on to the defense against the dark arts. I'll do transfiguration some other time, okay?" I told him, taking my wand again to prepared doing another spell. "So today Professor Lupin was teaching us how to repel a Boggart, right? Yeah, but we don't have one. I'm just going to teach you how to cast the spell that's all. Just the hand movements and the incantation for now," I tell him.
"Lumos!" I created some light using my wand. It was hard to see in the dim light. "So you see, when you see the boggart, you get scared because it turns into something you fear the most. When you see it, picture the boggart as something funny. Then when you're ready, say Ridikulus!"
"Okay. Now practise saying the incantation," I told him, pointing my illuminated wand in his face. Another big mistake. My heart was racing when I saw his face in the glowing white light. It was so perfect, his eyes of molten silver and his vanilla blond hair... I saw the way his eyes searched mine and I saw some sort of passion and softness in hie eyes. I lowered my wand, "Say it, Ridikulus!"
"Ridikulus," he said, looking down to the ground.
"Good, now you just point your wand at that pillar there. Pretend it's a boggart. So you point and say Ridikulus at the same time," I told him.
