Draco and I spent most of the time in the room until it was dinner. We played random games like spin-the-wand that ended unsuccessfully because there were only two people playing. We read our books and discussed about the potions project and how we would get the items we needed.
Soon, Gibbet came into the room.
"Your parents have asked Master Draco and Madame Rachel to go down for dinner now, sir," Gibbet says softly, her head down as always.
"Okay, we'll be going down soon. We have to change. You may go, Gibbet," Draco sends his house elf off politely before closing the door behind her. "Um, we'll have to change into something rather formal." I look at myself in the mirror, wearing a pink wool sweater and my hair was rather messy. Draco was still in his school uniform and his hair was also tousled.
"Yeah, I really should change. It won't take long, you go first?", I ask him, gesturing to the bathroom.
"No, ladies first," Draco told me, sitting on the edge of the maroon bed that was in a mess since I had my books spread out on it while I looked for things on potions and where to get our supplies.
"Thanks," I go over to my trunk and look for my dark purple dress with a silver beading along the single-strap. When I find it, I pull it out and take my small make-up bag and go to the bathroom.
The bathroom was so luxurious. There was a huge bathtub with rose-scented candles along the sides, the floor was of a light beige marble and the mirror was covering a whole wall. I gasp at how wealthy Draco's family must be to afford so much for a toilet! Nevertheless, I remove my pink sweater, shirt and pants and change into my purple dress. It was medium in length, ending just below my knees. I check how I looked in my dress in the mirror and I see that it still fit me just fine.
I open my make-up bag and decide for a bit of eye shadow and mascara. I didn't want to look like a clown at my first dinner with my boyfriend's parents, did I? I apply a little bit of purple eye shadow and some mascara, careful not to leave mascara goop in my eye. I comb my hair and tie it up into a tight and high pony tail using one of my favourite black hair ties. I check myself in the mirror and when I decide I looked nice enough, I walk out.
When I walk out, I see that Draco had already changed. His eyes dart to me immediately, his mouth going agape. He looked so stunning in his full-black suit. Everything he wore was black, he had a black tie, a black jacket, even a black shirt that he wore underneath the jacket. I smile as his eyes lock with mine.
"You look absolutely gorgeous," he tells me, giving me a smirk.
"You look stunning, Draco," I tell him, searching for my jet black ballet flats in my trunk. When I find them, I slip them on quickly.
"Ready?", he asks me, giving me his arm.
"Ready," I tell him, taking his arm as we walk out of the room together.
When we reach the dining room, I see Lucius, Narcissa and another lady who had straggly, curly hair. She had very fierce and firm eyes and pale skin. Gibbet leads Draco and I to our seats, just opposite the lady. The room was rather chilly so I put on my matching black sweater. As we sat down, I let go of Draco's arm but his hands slip down to mine and he holds my hand. All three adults at the table had their eyes on me. I was getting nervous if they didn't like me but Lucius started talking to break the awkward silence.
"I hope you're enjoying your stay here with us so far?", he asks me.
"Yes, absolutely. Thank you for letting me stay here," I thank him graciously. Only then did I notice the lady was looking at me oddly. My hands started going cold as if she was about to eat me up. Draco notices my anxiety and squeezes my hand.
