Chapter 21: Welcome Back...?

•Third Person View•

After putting in the last of the things, they head off back to the academy. The girls went to the throne room to say their farewells to the Lord. But, before they left, the Lord left them a reminder.

"Never trust anyone and never let you judgement get in the way."

'Does he know that I betrayed my friends?'

After hours and hours of walk. They finally made it back to the Academy. The witch in the group made a portal which drained her energy but atleast 5 hours of walk was covered by it.

They walked inside ignoring every student who kept whispering and once they reached their bedrooms, they immediately passed out on their beds.

A few more hours of sleep and they finally woke up to a loud announcement.

"EVERY STUDENT, PLEASE GATHER IN THE ARENA. THERE WILL BE A SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT AND THE KINGS AND QUEENS WILL BE PRESENT."

They groaned knowing they have to get up or they'll get their allowance taken my their parents if they don't show up. After 5 minutes of getting ready, the girls walked towardsnthe arena and the moment they stepped in, screams and shout can be heard.

The girls then sat on the thrones next to they parents' and waited patiently. As the HM arrived, he cleared his throat. His smile was wide, which made the students think it's extremly great news.

"Ehem. We all know that an upcoming war is nearing every second. It's a war we can not win without support and our saviour- the son of the Dryxmar Kingdom.

We have been searching for him ever since he went missing but with no luck, we haven't found him yet. But now, he is here. He is here making a public appearance to you all.

Our savior, Hwang Hyunjin!"

The kings and queens stood up and clapped while the king and queen of Dryxmar emerged through the large doors along with Hyunjin.

The princesses were glad to have found the Prince, especially Minju. Minju has a crush on Hyunjin and made her happy knowing that she'll marry him in the near future.

But, one of the girls were smirking knowing that they had easily fooled everyone with just magic. On the other hand, Chaeyeon, Yena, Sakura and Yuri were a little weary of Hyunjin. They know something is off, but couldn't quite put the finger on it.

Meanwhile, Chaewon is very bothered. She knows that this Hyunjin is a fake. She knows because, she knows who is the true heir to the throne of Dryxmar.

Days passed and Minju and Hyunjin were now a hot topic along the school as the sweetest couple. Also, ever since Hyunjin came along into the picture, Chaekkura, Yulyen and Chaewon were usually on their own.

The others were taling behind Minju and Hyunjin like a little lost puppy. The 5 girls knew something if off but didn't say anuithing.

More days passed and the 2 groups have drifted apart. They never spoke even if they meet in the halls. No one really noticed except for her.

'Divide and conquer, a success.'

More days passed and the students started to notice it. But, some were still too blind and are only praising and gossiping about a new step of relationship that Minju and Hyunjin have.

On the other hand, Chaewon feels frustrated. She doesn't know what it is but she HATES seeing Hyunjin and Minju together. Especially if they're lovey dovey in front of her.

Usually, she would just ignore them and roll her eyes whenever they meet, but now, she couldn'tbhelp but steal quick glances on Minju. Of course, being a good friend, Yena talked to Chaewon.

"Chaewon-ah! I need to talk to you."

"What?"

"Do you perhaps... have uhh- feelingsforMinjubecauseIalwaysseeyoustealgalncesfromherfromtimetotimeandimsocuriousaboutitpleasedontkillme." The duck said in one breath and after speaking, she covered her face with her arms.

"What? Speak more slowly."

"Okay... Do uhh, you perhaps have feelings for Minju? Because I always see you steal glances from her from time to time and I'm curious. Please don't kill me."

"I- uhh. I don't know. I'm confused. I hate her but at the same time, I can't hate her."

"Ohhh~ The all so powerful Kim Chaewon is in lovee~!"

"Shut up." And with a glare, the duck closed her mouth afraid that a ball of fire will swallow her alive if she doesn't.

It was a normal day in Dryxmar Academy, but Chaewon feels something is off about today. It feels like something will happen. She then used earphones ro drown out the noises in the hallway as she made her way to the garden.

The garden is the highest point of the Academy and anyone who stands at the top of the tree can see everything. She then sat down and tried to sleep. Until she felt a dark presence behind her.

She used her powers to make a sword and swing towards where the presence is and found- of course, Hyunjin. He was smirking and then spoke,

"I see. So you're her." With his powers, he also made a sword amd deflected Chaewon's.

"I am. Who are you?" Chaewon being Chaewon, she used her cold voice with authority. "I am him. I know you know me." He said making his way towards Chaewon slowly.

"Yeah. He'll pay. You'll lose."

"He won't." And to Chaewon's surprise, he used his hands to stab him with Chaewon's sword and screamed in agony. Just then, a large crowd formed and footsteps were heard.

Then Chaewon knew. It was the start.

"HYUNJIN! CHAEWON, WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?!" Minju said with pain and hatred laced into her voice. She felt angry seeing that Chaewon has done this to their 'savior' and almost killed him.

Minju being someoen who is destined to marry him was the angriest one. "You'll pay." Minju said coldly and then that's when everything goes black for Chaewon.
