A (short) story from a particularly memorable battle I recently had in Rimworld. Inspired by HeardnSeen's fantastic story (which some may remember) but ended up being written in a different style, unfortunately. Of course, the game doesn't literally allow one to talk to NPCs except for trading. Also, I have not read the Rimsenal lore regarding the Federation in-depth, so some parts might disagree with rooki12k's lore. I just imagined them as being mainly a group that sought to turn captured humans into their xenomorph monsters and ran with that Care has been taken to describe the battle as accurately and faithfully as it can be pieced together from the screenshots taken and my memories of it. With a little bit of imagination and world-building, I hope it is a realistic portrayal of the circumstances that led up to the battle and its aftermath. And, of course, an enjoyable (and hopefully not too cringe-y) read. Thank you!

in this galaxy, there are several classification for inhabited planets. from medieval worlds which have tribes of bow and sword users. urb worlds, which is like earth. industrial worlds, which focuses on industry and manufacturing. Glitterworlds which are the pinnacle of human society and technology. but there are worlds that are often overlooked grey worlds, devoid of life. hell worlds, bathed in fire and ash. plague worlds, which are quarantined. doom worlds, where an event that will happen in the future will destroy the planet, or the entire system. but this story isn't about those worlds; this one is about a war world in the malton sector. war world are urbworld that were degraded into rimworlds due to constant war. and this, is where we start our story

This story will follow the tale of three space explorers who unfortunately crashed on an alien planet. Our brave explorers are going to have to fight disease, winter, starvation, enemies, and everything else nature can through at them. Struck by Lightning is an anthology featuring works that span several years of my life. Some are new and fresh, some I wrote or first conceived of several years ago. Most stories will feature elements of cosmic horror while some stay a little more grounded. Though all will delve into elements of the fantastical, mystical or scary. After six years of building a ship to escape, they thought they were free, they thought they could get away and find peace. However, the mechanoids said no. || Rimworld Fiction

[IN PROGRESS] After his rebellion failed, Patrick and his team escaped to another world, thinking to be safe there, and live out what remained of their broken lives in whatever peace they might find. But the world he found wasn't the one he expected, and that remainder of his life threatened to become very short, unless he found a way to survive in this monster-ridden hostile environment. To make matters worse, more refugees started to come in, falling through portals, disturbing the balance. With them they brought tales of war and chaos, the horrors of those who were left behind, and the ravenous hunger for blood of the Tyrant they thought they left behind. Unable to leave the new settlers to their fate, Patrick and his team take on the roles that are pushed onto them, some with enthusiasm, some with reluctance, all striving to build a better world than the one they left behind.
