    Suddenly, I hear footsteps approaching, and my entire body freezes. God, I really need to stop getting myself into these situations.
    
    The footsteps halt, and terror washes over me as I stare at a pair of dirty boots visible through the bar openings at the bottom of the cell. 
    
    I pant heavily, consumed by dread, and slowly, my eyes make their way up to the tall figure on the other side. When I meet his face, I gasp in horrifying shock, my eyes widening in disbelief.
