Leona - Lee-Ana
L E O N A
Staring at the beautifully livid specimen also known as Jung. He, instead turned to Mrs. Monroe and zoned out seemingly. Mindlinking must be nice. But not when you don't have a clue as to what the other people are saying. And especially when it's clearly about you.
Fidgeting nervously as one does. I needed to distract myself, so I looked up at the sky which was darkening as the seconds passed. Suddenly, I heard a person cough. Turning my head to see who it is.
"You are stunning." A man with a sly smile announced to me as I smiled back in his direction. Not knowing how to take the compliment. This was all new to me.
This never happened at my old pack. I was always invisible... "Thank you," I replied as I started getting overwhelmed with people who were just randomly telling me I was pretty.
You do know that we are in a different pack now, Leona.
"What's your name?" He asked before I saw my mate come over. Jung walked in front of me since, I guess, he heard the conversation.
"That is none of your concern, Mario." He interrupted while I looked at him. I shook my head. Then tilted my body around his bloody yet muscular frame.
"Well, that was rude. I'm Leona. Sorry about that, I didn't know he was coming over here to be mean." I said politely. I added a little giggle at the end of that statement so he knew I wasn't being mean to him.
I then walked from around my hunk of a mate. I didn't need him to answer for me. I barely know him. Mate or not.
Purr
"Nice to meet you. My name is Mario! I am the gamma here." He announced as he held out his hand for a handshake. I took it and then backed away. He has that title too. I tried to not show that his label had hurt me.
"Gamma?..." I whispered, confused before continuing. "It's nice to meet you," I said, just as Jung got in front of me again. Only this time his face was turned towards me, blocking off Mario from my vision with his broad back.
I see them both go still for a second before I look into his eyes and just like that...
Time stood still. And I took this time to finally get a good look at him. His face was an experience to behold.
I could have fallen for him from just the sight of his tattoos, which were more prominent in the sunset light. His jet-black hair was swooshed to the side. His warm silver eyes soften my cold exterior. To be honest, just hearing his voice made my body want to melt. His monolid eyes were strong me down and it made is a bit nervous.
All I have to say is that if, I, have been thinking that this pack might not be like my old one. I best believe that it's probably going to be because of Jung.
Feeling Ty-la pull at our bond like she hasn't been out for a while is so weird. Because it feels like she is itching for physical contact with our mate when, I, myself still haven't gotten any. I had to avert my eyes because I felt them become overpowered and switched to her teal color. I felt her try to take over but doing that right now was not the best idea.
I am already super zoned out on whatever Jung is saying. I decided to hold my head and close my eyes so that it didn't seem like I was getting advice from my inner tiger. I put my hands over my ears and squatted, probably looking like an idiot. But I'm just going to make up an excuse like "I get massive headaches." or something.
'Ty-la right now is not a good time. Why are you so horny?'
It's because my instincts are very powerful. I can't ignore them. That is what keeps us safe. Our instincts are very important to werecats. Sometimes all we have are them. And our mate is hot as hell how come you don't want to jump on him?
'Because we just met the man. I don't know him. What if he doesn't like tiger shifters? What if he rejects me because I am a "human"..?' I asked as I slowed my breathing and pretended to get better slowly.
Jung will love us. I can tell. And he won't reject us. Call it instinct. She answered. I was still skeptical but I love and respect everything my soul animal says.
'Okay...but if he isn't a good mate, we are dropping him and marrying a female.'
Bet!
I looked back at my new mate who now had concern in his eyes as they met again for what seemed like forever ago.
Shocks ran right through me since I was once again lusting after this man from just a glance.
"Are you okay? You had me worried for a second there. One second, I am about to talk to you about talking to strangers and the next you are on the floor squatting and breathing super fast. Are you okay?" Jung rapid-fired words my way as I 'tried' to catch my breath.
"I am perfectly fine. Thanks for being worried, I guess. Sometimes I have massive headaches. This might also be somehow connected to earlier when I got hit by a metal pellet in my face. But Yes. I am okay." I said as I fanned my face and tried to show him the side of my face where I got hit.
"What? You got hit by a pellet gun in the face. Do you know who did it? I just know that shit hurts." He looks at me with subtle anger from earlier resurfacing, plain in his eyes. He clenched his tattooed hands, looking tense.
"I have no clue who did it. The only thing I remember is teenage boys with pellet guns shooting. I didn't even see them. I got hit on a whim, I think it bounced off something else and hit me." I explained feeling the place I got hit.
"I'll try to figure it out from that I guess." He said as his stone-cold exterior lifted and he let out an unexpected chuckle.
"I hope you can," I said as I took in his laughter. It was a noise I could get used to.
"But as I was saying, What if my gamma was a serial killer?" He asked while fidgeting with his dried yet bloody shirt. I stepped back.
"I don't know what I would do. Runaway probably, but anyway what is a gamma? Does it mean chef or something?" I asked switching the conversation while continuing my charade. He sighed, not with annoyance, but with tiredness.
"A Chef? No... More of the head of security. Like a bodyguard." He explained as I nodded along so it looked like I believed him.
"Ohhh. That's why he is in all black. So he can protect you. Like a ninja." I said, piecing it together smoothly. I watch as Mrs. Monroe walks over to us in the corner of my eye. He shakes his head not giving me my answer.
"Nahh. He just likes the color black."
"I mean I guess that makes sense." I shrug as I turn to the small boss lady and ask one of the questions that are still on my mind. "So, Are you taking me back to my hotel?"
She smiles at me with kind eyes but shakes her head.
"We want you to stay the night and we would prefer if you didn't say no." She said it nicely but I don't know these people.
"And that is exactly why I politely decline. Y'all have been so increasingly nice to me so until I can pay you all back I'm not taking anything else away from you. Especially not a bed. I already paid the super 9 for two nights anyway." I reply guiltily. I wanted freedom. Not this.
"Please! I would like to get to know you more. I'll pay you back for the second night if you stay here." Jung said. And with that, I started to reconsider just for him.But how was I going to stay in the same house as him and force my tiger not to jump him? He doesn't even know I have one. Just as I started to open my mouth to reply someone came out of the forest all rowdy.
"Sorry to break up this lovely affair but does anyone wanna pass the G.O.A.T. a Pepsi?" Followed by a familiar round of laughter. Teenage boy laughter. I heard the same laughter when I got shot in the face with the pellet.
I know that I'm new here and everything but I just couldn't control my curiosity. "Wait a second .... Are you the guys that were shooting the pellet guns in the city earlier? Who are you?" I ask looking at a new face.
