Chapter 8

Kokichi shut his locker and skipped down the hall, heading to the exit of the school. He waited for Shuichi who soon appeared with Rantaro and Kaede.

"Hello~!" Kokichi said, elongating the o.

"Hi, Kokichi. Is it alright if Rantaro and Kaede walk with us?" Shuichi asked.

"Sure! They're not boring so I'll accept it!"

Rantaro and Kaede giggled at him and Shuichi just smiled. They all started walking to the dorm and talked.

"Yeah! Did you remember what happened in science, Shu?" Kokichi said laughing.

"Yeah. Haha, Kaito fell out of his chair because he started a fight with someone and tried to stand up but-" Shuichi tried to finish the story but burst out laughing. "A-And- Sorry-"

At this point, everyone stopped to laugh, still a good walk away from the dorms.

"F-Finish the story Shuichi!" Kaede said the best she could without laughing.

"Hah. O-Okay, s-so he tried to stand up but his leg caught on the chair and he fell over." Shuichi finished, laughing right after.

"Good thing Kaito didn't come with us or he would've killed us for laughing about that. He got so embarrassed!" Kokichi spoke.

It was true, Kaito didn't really enjoy it when people made fun of him.

"But, where is Kaito anyway?" Kokichi asked with curiosity.

"He didn't meet up with me after class but just said that he wouldn't be at the dorms but would be at the party, then kinda ran away," Rantaro explained.

"That's weird. I guess we'll see him at the party, then maybe someone can ask him about it," Kokichi spoke.

The rest of the walk was relatively quiet. Kokichi grabbed Shuichi's hand and they smiled at each other and stayed like that, walking behind the other two in a calming silence.

Soon, they got to the dorm hall and they said their goodbyes, then headed to their rooms. Shuichi and Kokichi arrived at their dorm and Kokichi flopped on the couch.

Shuichi grabbed a few notebooks from his bag. "Kokichi, we have homework remember?"

"Yeah, I already finished it at school because it was super duper easy," the smaller said.

Shuichi sighed. "That's a lie. I can help you if you'd like."

"..."

"..."

"You're a good detective," Kokichi said as he walked over to the taller, patting his shoulder. "And I would appreciate the help."

Shuichi nodded and got Kokichi's notebook and walked to their bedroom. They started doing their work for a while.

"Shumai! It's been so long! We're gonna be late for the party!" Kokichi complained.

"It's okay, just two more questions," Shuichi told him. "We still have time to prepare for the party."

They finished up with their homework and heard a ding from both of their phones. They checked and it was Rantaro giving information about the party; just mentioning that it was at six and it would be held at his house in which he included directions to.

"The party is soon so we better get ready." Shuichi got up and went to the bags on his desk, pulling out their suits. He handed Kokichi his clothes and then the navy haired male walked to their bathroom to change while Kokichi got changed in their room.
