Chapter 6

Shuichi awoke the next morning to someone shaking him awake. He pulled the covers over himself and rolled over.

"Shuichi, get up! We're late for school!!" Kokichi yelled.

He slowly got up, not fully awake, until he processed what Kokichi said.

"What?!"

"It's a lie! It's actually a snow day!" Kokichi said with excitement.

"Kokichi..." Shuichi mumbled.

"What? Just trying have some fun meanie," Kokichi crossed his arms and looked away. "But you can see for yourself that it's snowing Kokichi said, dragging him into their small living room area. Shuichi looked out the window to see more than 7 inches of snow.

"Oh geez, I guess it is. Well, I'll text Rantaro about the time he'll be leaving to the store."
Shuichi texted Rantaro and got a reply saying that he was just about to leave. Shuichi and Kokichi got ready in their winter coats and boots and walked out the door. They started walking down the hall, thinking Rantaro had already gone.

"Hey, behind you," They heard. Shuichi turned around and saw Rantaro.

"Ah, Hi Rantaro. We thought you already left," Shuichi said.

"Well, let's be on our way now."

They walked down to Shuichi's car and drove to the store. When they arrived, Shuichi and Kokichi went off on their own as well as Rantaro.

The two boys started walking around, looking for the sleds. Just as they were about to get to the aisle, something caught Kokichi's eye.

"Saihara-chan look! Christmas stuff!" Kokichi pointed at Christmas decorations. "We should totally get something for our dorm!"

"Okay then," Shuichi agreed.

They looked through a bunch of wreaths, banners, and ornaments.

"We should get a chirstmas tree! Or like, a small plant for our dorm for all the time." Kokichi suggested.

"Hm. That doesn't sound too bad," Shuichi smiled.

They chose a few ornaments they would use for their plant. They also decided to get a wreath for their door.

"Okay. Now we can go look at the sleds." Shuichi said.

Kokichi nodded and they went to the aisle with sleds, Shuichi getting a blue one and Kokichi getting a purple one. They paid for their things and waited outside for Rantaro. When he came outside, they all hopped back in the car.

"We should probably go pick up Kaito soon. I was also planning on inviting a few others." Rantaro said.

"Who?" Kokichi asked.

"Kaede, Maki, Keebo, Miu, and Kirumi."

"That sounds like a good group," Shuichi smiled.

"Alright, I'll text them now."

Shuichi started driving back to the dorms while Rantaro waited for replies.

"Well, Kaede, Maki, and Kirumi said they would be able to make it but Miu and Keebo never responded," Rantaro informed us as we arrived at the dorms.

"Miu is probably doing some maintenance or whatever on him so their busy," Kokichi shrugged. "And since snow is like, frozen water or something, Keebo would die if he fell of a sled into the snow so it's best if he didn't come."

"Yeah, that's a good point," Shuichi agreed, getting out of the car.

They all walked back to the dorm building and agreed to hang out at Rantaro's until it was time to go. Once they got there, Kaito was informed about the plans and they hung out for some time.
