Summer turned fall, and spring turned winter. Before Fu Lin knew it, he had already spent 8 months in this world.

In the past 8 months, Fu Lin busied himself in the Fu Empire to deal with political matters and did not even have a chance to visit Xing Ruo in Xing Dynasty. However, their long distance did not hinder them from deepening their relationship further. Fu Lin would send Xing Ruo a video call every night, and they would talk about everything for long hours. He would also test her knowledge about the things she learnt beforehand to make sure that she was progressing to become a successful ruler.

Fu Lin was satisfied with her progress, and his mission was already 65% complete.

If that was all, then Fu Lin would have used the remaining time for idling and waiting for the turning point of the world plot in a year. Sadly, his life in the Fu Empire wasn't that pleasant.

Fu Lin had to deal with assassinations and framings sent by his uncle at unexpected moments, from food poisoning during his lunch in a restaurant, or an assasination during his trip to visit his Empress mother in the royal palace. Even staying in his residence did not let him avoid death. He had to make sure his mind and body was alert at all times.

Every day in his life, Fu Lin was standing on a tightrope, unknown when he would actually fall to the chasm underneath. It has made his soul and body weary from overexertion.

But thankfully, his hard work paid off. Fu Lin was also able to collect evidence and living testimony of his uncle's illegal trading, slavery, and killing of the innocence. He knew which officials were associated with his uncle and even partake in these illegal deeds.

Fu Lin was just waiting for the right time to present the evidence to his Emperor father.

And soon, God gave him that chance.

It was currently in the beginning of January, and the world celebrated the festivities to welcome the new year. Everywhere Fu Lin went, he could see the beautiful decorations hung on every facade of the buildings. Red lanterns and other light ornaments that were hung on the entablature further illuminated the dark city.

The birthday of the Emperor of Xing Dynasty was coming up soon. This was a grand event for the Xing Dynasty. Therefore, the whole city became even more lively.

All the Imperial Princes, noble's families, and officials, both civil and military, either belonging to Xing Dynasty or from the neighboring countries were all invited. All of these people could sum up to hundreds; it was a mass celebration. The Imperial palace was carefully groomed and maintained to welcome the noble guests.

Crown Prince Fu Lin, as the only prince of Fu Empire, and Fu Heng, as the Emperor's younger brother, were included in the invitees of this event. They were sent as an envoy to send regards and wishes to the Xing Dynasty's Emperor in place of the Fu Empire. It was also a gesture to sustain the friendly relations between the two countries.

The Fu Empire's black electric cars went through the entrance of the Capital City easily. Their entrance was unassuming and did not really attract any attention.

A handsome youth about 18 years old who sat inside the carriage peeked through the tinted window, watching the bustling of the lively city outside with a cold expression. His eyes expressed their boredom.

Fu Lin and the rest of his servants had been sitting in the car for 6 hours without rest. Their lower bodies had long been cramped because of sitting in the same position from hours on end.

The journey to the Xing Dynasty which should have taken only 4 hours was impeded halfway due to meeting a group of thugs who decided to rob them on the outskirts of the Xing Dynasty.
